Well, i was right about the second half of that statement. Unfortunately it wasn't the blonde chick. good thing Woo didn't accept my karma bet.
Also, does anyone else feel like Jack Bauer is kind of a dick in this season? It's like they're trying to purposefully make him send innocent people to their death.

Yeah Jack is a right asshole I hate his attitude to the female FBI agent who's name I have forgotten. "Don't ever pull your gun out at me again unless you intend to use it!" what a prick- "I DID!" haha Jack got owwwwned! I am loving her btw, finally someone acts like a human being in the show.
Tony is just rediculos this year. Showing up randomly and is like "Hey Jack, fancy meeting you here! There's gonna be a new attack soon, meet me at this random place" without saying what time to meet up or anything.
Btw yeah you were right about that blonde girl after all. It should have been obvious all along really as we all know that in 24 only evil people have sex.

Apart from the convenient plot devices, I thought last night's episode was among the best ever. It had terrific action, and intense drama and suspense, which I think has been lacking thus far. The car chase and resulting shock death of Dubaku's bird, coupled with Jack's threat to Dubaku's family and discovery/removal of the flash drive was an incredibly exciting first twelve minutes. Then I thought the data retrieval scenes and treachery/murder within the FBI building were extremely tense.
The only things that diluted the episode were the increasingly annoying First Gentleman storyline which I think is altogether crap. For a start, I still don't like that president, and every scene featuring her I find cringeworthy. I wish Powers Booth would return and take charge.
And Woo is right about the surprise reappearance of Tony. Too convenient. But if it supplies more episodes of this calibre then I will happily suspend disbelief.

One comment on last night, it seemed rather out of character for Jack to hand over that chip to some random cop. Considering its vast importance I would have thought he would have taken it there himself, especially as now having Dubaku in custody meant that Jack didnt have a pressing engagement... well except to accidentally bump into Tony...

It's totally a republican show.
This made me incredibly angry and i wanted to turn the show off after this awful piece of writing. "Oh, hey, we can't trust ANYONE, we have to do this ALONE, no there's tons of badguys shooting at us but we do this BY OURSELVES... oh hey mister cop, take this chip that's more important than people's lives even though i've never met you before. hip hip cheerio."

Yeah that really pissed me off too. Soooo stupid.
That scene could have been saved had the cop said "what?! I aint taking that, it's covered in blood!" only for Jack to give him an evil look, but alas that didn't happen. Would have been great too if the cop instantly threw the chip on the floor, stamped on it, stuck his middle fingers up at Jack and gave him a stunner.
Btw in the last episode did anybody else mark out when Aaron Pierce/Pearce made his cameo and continued his record of appearing in every season.
Also a random thought this, but did they ever say if Logan survived being stabbed last year?
How many episodes ahead of this one are you Somar? We are getting a double episode this Monday so will we catch up or be one week behind again?

holy shit at the 8:07 - 8:11 mark. I was completely and utterly shocked at what happened. Best moment in 24 for me since Edgar's death back in season 5.

It also made Jack human for the first time this year. I'm a bit nervous about where this is going now as they've done the usual 24 cliche of "okay now that threat is out of the wayit's time for the REAL one now with the BIG bad guy" which always pisses me off. They've done that every sngle season.

Larry Moss is a fucking moron. So you are saying Jack shot the judge, then shot his room before jumping through a window rather than leave through the open door? Are you fucking kidding me!?!
Other than his STUPIDITY I liked this episode. The bit where the assassin shot the judge shocked me and it was good to see Morris back again for more than 3 seconds, though that may be the end of him and Chloe this year now. No real point of them anymore this year it seems. Tony was back too! I want to see this whole season again, but just with Tony. What does he do when he's not giving Jack the word on the street? I think it would be an awesome gag if Tony was in the middle of something every time Jack called like playing golf, shopping or catching a tan.
I think the President's daughter has to be involved in the terrorist plot or there isn't much point in her storyline.

The President's daughter must be involved in her brother's murder somehow. That storyline has almost been forgotten. And Woo, that judge who was murdered was actually a SENATOR. So Jack really is in deep scheisse. Why can't everyone just believe him? Jack rarely lies, so why is he deemed so fucking untrustworthy all the time? He always does the right thing for Christ's sake!
I am beginning to hate Moss more and more with each passing hour. I wish he'd just die already. Stupid ignorant twat!
Great episode though. High tension as has been the norm this season. One of the best seasons to date I think.

Larry Moss is my favourite character of the season so far. You guys are acting like he's had time to investigate the scene. Assuming we're still one episode ahead of you guys, what you're talking about is when Larry has just arrived at the Senator's house. How can he suspect anything other than it being Jack who killed Red Forman, seeing as how they knew Jack was heading there and they have to assume Jack is the one who killed Ryan Burnett since they don't have any proof otherwise. How can you say Larry Moss is a moron, Woo, when by simply talking to Rene he knows she's helping Jack? That's pretty calculating to me.
Rene, on the other hand, is a complete twat. She has put herself in several situations in the season this far inwhich she's risked her life, and even more when she's risked her career, when there has been no need to. She light-switches in her feelings towards Jack, which is the WORST thing a character can do on a show for me. I hate when one episode they feel one thing and the next they feel something completely different with no real basis to judge the switch on. Smallville did this horribly with Lex "He's really a good guy but because we know he turns bad in the end everything he does now is bad even though he's a better good guy the Clark Kent" Luthor, 24's lightswitch characters are even worse since they're changing opinions of people in an hour. Fuck Rene, i hope she dies.
I found Quinn being at the door of the senator and not the LAPD to be highly predictable, since nothing normal can happen in the world of Jack Bauer. I liked that they keep Bauer on the run, but i think it would have been much more suspenseful had they shown Quinn at the door, that way my feeling would be "zomg don't go to the door" rather than "I know it's Quinn at the door, why are they hiding this?"

I don't watch the new episode of 24 until Thursday, so if this was already explained I'll feel dumb but I don't understand how the whole Quinn sitution was played out. First of all the fight was ok. I was hoping for it to be longer and in the end Quinn sorta jobbed easily to Jack which kinda pissed me off. I mean somebody needs to challenge Bauer. And how the fuck did he get the keys to that tractor?
Anyway, what I really did not understand was why Bauer ran after killing Quinn. Could he not just say look here's the real killer?
