What, you mean you didn't like the George Of The Jungle impression by Shia LeBeouf? The sight of that fucking knob head swinging through the jungle was enough to make me almost vomit into my hands and wash my face with it.
What a poor, poor film indeed. The Beards should hang their heads in shame. Once again they have raped my childhood.

Yeah that Tarzan bit was god awful. In fact that is EXACTLY what happened in James Bond Octopussy, though Roger Moore went a step further by doing a tarzan yell.
What made that scene in Indy even worse was when the monkeys also swung their way into the car and ended up attacking the bad gir.... That car chase was going along fine up until that point. For he first time since the film began I was having fun and then that happened. (The sword fight on the cars was bad also but I forgave them that as it was Pirates of the Caribean style silly fun) but swinging through the vines was TOO much.
Anyone remember the bit where that crazy native was going to shoot Indy's son wit a blow pipe and instead Indy blew through the other side and killed him? That was also retarded, I guess it was a double-pointed dart...

Just saw Taken. I know it's been out for quite some time but yeah. Not bad for an "action thriller". Spoilers ahead in case anyone cares.
The ending was a bit pointless but Liam Neeson whooped some serious ass. His character is likely the baddest motherfucker to ever appear on the silver screen (that's only because Sayid Jarrah has never starred in a major motion picture before), and that's pretty impressive considering his age. The guy manages to get shot only once, conveniently at the very end of his onslaught when he only has to take on one more stupid fat guy, and he has the stamina of a cheetah, never once in that hands-on-the-knees-gasping-for-breath phase I'm in after running 100 meters.
Unfortunately though, he didn't pass off that natural athleticism to his daughter (played by the lovely Maggie Grace), who runs with the grace of a retarded baby orangutan in more than one scene.

I just finished watching Synecdoche, New York. I'm a huge Charlie Kaufman fan, so obviously my opinion of the film is biased, but I loved the movie even on the first viewing. The story of the main character is great. It's haunting and easy to empathize with. The film is one of those "nothing can go right for the character" and is really depressing.
I can understand why Kaufman isn't for everyone. Critics of his work think he's pretentious, fans say critics just aren't able to understand. Personally, all the characters are highly relatable for me, so the movies are incredibly easy for me to enjoy.

Last night I watched the tripe that is known as Marley and Me.
Jesus, what crap. I've never been so bored in the cinema.

I saw Ironman. I saw the first half before but I watched the end now too. It's a very good film even if I found the final fight to be rather anti-climatic.

I just watched In The Name Of The King, starring Jason Statham. It's basically a Lord Of The Rings rip off with chop-socky action, which at two hours could have done with being half an hour shorter to be honest. The battle scenes are rather too long and samey, but Kristiana Loken (that bird-borg from T3) is extremely sexy as an elf-like forest chick. And it's got Ron Perlman in it an all, which is generally always a good plus.
Director Uwe Boll always gets loads of stick from critics and film fans alike, but the few films of his I've seen aren't half as bad as they're made out to be. I reckon there's a witch hunt going on. Check out his 2007 film Seed for a grim horror tale that I found genuinely frightening.

Just saw Meet the Robinsons.
This is one of my favorite animated movies of all time and cannot recall a scene I did not enjoy. When I saw this was playing I thought it was a PIXAR movie so decided to watch it. However, I found out it wasn’t PIXAR and instead Disney Animations and almost stopped watching. I decided to keep watching it though and what a decision that turned out to be.
I enjoyed all the characters so much and it was such a fast paced movie which never became dull. It is really out there but I found myself laughing at more then one scene.
I enjoyed the plot too, especially the twist midway through regardless of how predictable it was.
It is a pretty weird film but from start to finish I simply enjoyed it.
Speaking of PIXAR, I saw the Up trailer during X-men and was pretty excited for the release of that. Up looks funny and should match if not overtake Monsters vs. Aliens as top animation film of 2009 so far.

Just saw Star Trek.
I've got to say it was a very enjoyable movie. All the actors were very good and every character- Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Zulu & Chekov all got a nice introduction. Simon Pegg's Scotty is very funny (though perhaps his slapstickness was not a great fit for Star Trek) and McCoy is freaking fantastic.
If you have even a passing interest in Star Trek go watch this movie.

Saw Terminator Salvation yesterday.
Fairly good film..... but a bit devoid of any memorable moments.... dunno what to think of it really.

Saw 'The Hangover'. It's really funny, even if the trailers give away a lot of the funny parts. Zach Galifianakis steals the show, but Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper were really good too. It had me chuckling throughout.
Warner Bros. ordered a sequel before it even hit theaters and from what I'm reading, it's exceeding expectations at the box office, so I'm definitely looking forward to number two.
Hopefully it kills 'Land of the Lost' at the box office and lets Hollywood know that throwing Will Ferrell on camera and having him do an hour and a half of improv, then throwing it into movie theaters isn't cutting it anymore.
If you go, stay for the end credits.
5 Stars (out of 6 1/2)

How can they do a sequel?
I say leave the film alone.
I too saw the hangover last night and it was amazing.
Easily my favorite film of 09 so far with Funny People probably going to pass it when that comes out in July...

What do you mean, how can they do a sequel? No one died. It's not like any of them learned any life lessons. None of them swore off of alcohol or Vegas forever (not that the sequel has to involve Vegas). They probably won't mess with Mike Tyson again, but that's about it. I could easily see these guys getting together again and going, "Let's go get drunk" and going out and making some more bad decisions.
