"Suffer Some" - Jane's Addiction
I recently became a big fan of Jane's Addiction, ironically a year or so after they broke up "for good".

"Suffer Some" - Jane's Addiction I recently became a big fan of Jane's Addiction, ironically a year or so after they broke up "for good". Can't fault you for getting into Jane's dude. They are a departure from what I normally listen to but somehow I have always loved their output. I saw them live a couple of years back when they reformed with Dave Navarro. Good job too, cos as you said they've only gone and split up again.

Ha, I bet they were awesome live, even if they get shirtless way too often for my liking. Since that post, I've grabbed a few more of their albums and they both kick ass, though the music stores never seem to carry 'Ritual de lo Habitual', which is strange considering two of their most successful singles were on that album.
I also gave The Panic Channel a chance since Navarro, Chris Chaney, and Stephen Perkins are all members. Good stuff, but not in the same realm of Jane's Addiction. Perry Farrell is irreplaceable.

My favourite Jane's album remains Nothing's Shocking. Every time I hear the song Ted, Just Admit It, it makes me wanna watch Natural Born Killers again. It's used to such great effect in that film. Did you hear the Porno For Pyros thing that Farrell did a few years ago? While not a patch on the Jane's Addiction shit, it's still worth listening to if you like psychadelic funk metal type stuff.

Yeah, that's gotta be the best song on the album, along with Mountain Song. Of the three Jane's albums I have, I can't decide if I like Nothing's Shocking or Strays better, which is a good thing I guess. But their live self-titled album is pretty solid too.
I've heard of the band before, but unfortunately I've never heard one of their songs. I'll look around for their CDs the next time I go to the music store, though I have a sinking suspicion they won't have that either.

I'm mostly listening to most of the Smashing Pumpkins back catelogue in an effort to bring myself up to speed before I see them.
I'm also listening to Nine Inch Nails's new album "Year Zero".
It is awesome.

Yeah they are playing one of the big festivals aren't they? I love their music too, especially Siamese Dream, and in particular, the song Mayonnaise, which gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Corgan once did a solo acoustic version on The Word, a few years ago, and that was amazing.
I need to get their new album, and hope they tour soon, before they split up again. Thery are one of the few bands I regret never seeing.

Yeah The Arctic Monkeys are from right here in my hometown. Just up the road from me in fact. You would not believe the hype surrounding these guys. I personally don't like them and find them a cross between The Jam and early Clash.
They are however real musicians and real songwriters, as opposed to the usual diet of rahashed samples and "BOOM BOOM" crap you hear every time a Peugeot 106 passes. And at least they don't sound like The Chipmunks either!
I can respect a band who have the qualities of true musicianship, even if I don't like what they play.
