I bought Red Dead Redemption yesterday and I've already got 10 hours in. It's amazing how time flies when you're lassoing horse thieves, skinning coyotes, and picking flowers.

Yeah, Red Dead is a smashing game. I bought it, played it for approx. 10 hours a day and finished it fairly quickly. Unfortunately, the missions are rather easy. Still, the ending is excellent and the game is just an absolute blast. I usually trade in the games I finish. This... this is a keeper.

I think it's impossible to run out of ammo. Ever. I use my rifle all the time and rarely the pistol but I have never run out of ammo (and I haven't bought any yet either).
Also, using dead eye to take out rabbits seems like cheating. But I do it anyway.

Yeah, I don't think I bought ammo the whole time I played it. You kill so many guys who give you more than enough.
Have you gotten to the bit where the guy throws his hat in the air and you have to use dead eye to shoot it? At that stage, I was still getting used to the game and didn't know about dead eye... So I spent twenty minutes cracking the shits saying "I fucking hit it you bastards!" until I realized...
Back to guns... wait til you get the shotguns. I think it's the semi auto which is the best. You'll never use anything else... except maybe the rapid fire pistol or the mauser pistol. Just because they are so much fun.
My favourite thing about the game is that you can actually kill all of a town's lawmen.

lol. Yeah I got to that part. I only knew how to do it since I had gotten into a duel before that and they had a tutorial before that. Dead eye also makes the challenge you get from a stranger to shoot three birds before he does hilariously easy.
I've got a few shotguns. Sawed-off and the double-barreled. I don't know if I've even used them. I still use the Winchester Repeater because I like the range.

Thank fuck all the forums are back....
Anyway I've recently been playing on my PS3 a lot recently...
Up first was Mirrors Edge.
As you can see from the above trailer this game plays as some kind of first-person Prince of Persia parkour game. I played the demo years ago and loved it and bought the game, but only recently sat down to actually play it. I wish I had played it sooner now as it was terrifically good fun. There really is nothing like running from roof top to roof top, leaping into the air while guns fire behind you as you land 20 feet below with a harmless roll on the ground. It's thrilling stuff and I highly recommend it, even if it's a bit short.
Up next was Portal. This was on the Orange Box, which also contains Team Fortress and Half Life 2, but it was this game which is why I bought the Orange Box and again like Mirrors Edge I wasn't disappointed.
After playing Mirrors Edge this seemed like completely the opposite game. While they are both first-person adventure games which involve getting from A to B it was an odd transition from the fast and frenetic action of ME to the tactical mind-fucker of Portal. Explaining how the game works requires too much work, so just watch the trailer. The puzzles are inspired and get more tricky as the game goes on the the "Aha!" moment when you work them out is such a feel-good moment. However it is the AI voice that "guides" you through the puzzles that is the real star of the game. I don't want to spoil you too much by revealing why exactly she is so great, but think HAL from 2001 Space Odyssey only MUCH funnier and even more evil! Incredible game. Very short again though, hopefully the sequel will rectify that.
The third game I've been playing us Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. This shouldn't need much introduction to people, but I recently bought the sequel, but thought I'd play the first one first. It was a very good game. The best Indiana Jones game there never was. Nate is such a like-able character and amazingly his friends are equally as endearing. The only problems I had with it was that the storyline wasn't too good and that the gunplay does become tiresome after a while and you end up dreading the next big shoot-out at times rather than looking forwards to it. Still it's a good game and I started playing the sequel right away!

Thank fuck all the forums are back.... That's a nickname I hope doesn't stick. Totally agree with you on Uncharted. They are both fantastic games and I can't wait for the third. All I've been playing recently is NHL 11, although I am thinking about buying Fable 3.

Since this place shook a seven, I have been spending most of my online time on a browser game called OGame. It's a pretty simple space real time multiplayer strategy game, which I find extremely addictive. If anyone fancies joining in, go to ogame.org, sign up to Universe 31 and seek me out. Here is a link to the forum I created for the alliance I co-founded. nexusuni31.proboards.com.

I have been playing a lot of EWR (the wrestling management game). I am a member of a website that constantly makes updates to the roster which means you always get the latest feds etc. I have been in charge of the Shimmer promotion for about a year and while other feds like Pro Wrestling Gorillia and CHIKARA have gone but I am now the 4th best company in the game, behind the WWE, TNA and AAA and ahead of ROH. Woot, woot! The game is MASSIVELY repetitive though and booking the shows is now such a chore.

Batman: Arkham City. I'm loving it so far.
Should be getting Uncharted 3 pretty soon too. With those two games, I'm basically making the conscious choice to tether myself to the PS3 for the next couple of months.

Just finished Arkham City, Game of the Year for me so far. Pretty disappointed with the lack of Robin and other characters though. Story was shit hot, so that made up for it. However I'm today starting Uncharted 3, so that could quickly change. It's started off pretty well.
In about a weeks time it's going to be all about Saints Row The Third. That game looks stupidly fun.

You're disappointed by the lack of Robin? lol.
In the States, you could get a code to play as Robin if you pre-ordered it from GameStop. Needless to say, I didn't bother.
