Yeah I agree, I love 6 and think its very dark, Kefka is a great bad guy and I like all the characters and its actually quite a hard game until you get the master scrolls and soul of thamasa, not sure which version you are playing but I have it on the gba which is very similar to the psone version I think, I love the music score as well and I have to say the final two secret dungeon bosses are really really hard for me even at level 99

I'm in the midle of playing BLACK on PS2. Absolutely great game, one of the best I ever played, but fuck is it HARD?!
I've been stuck in the same place now for about six months and I'm on the verge of using the thing as a coaster. This level I'm on, you start off in this busted up house, and gun your way through it and out the back to this big village square outside a massive RPG sniper infested government building. I'm guessing you know exactly the place.
Anyway, so far so good. Then it's into the building, throught a bunch of tunnels and bunkers before descending to the place of death - a huge underground chamber where about half an army comes at you from all directions and basically blasts the shit out of you till you die. They are unbeatable. This game is unwinnable.
It's alright each time you die you start at a checkpoint, but getting to each checkpoint takes like... hours. I just can't bring myself to swith it on knowing that I'll be playing six hours before I reach the furthest point I've ever reached in the game.
It's a shame I find it so difficult because it really is a splendid game, but I'm thinking about abandonment now in favour of Tomb Raider Anniversary.

Black- Very good game with an interesting plot. Problem is it is VERY hard as you stated. Also no two player mode? I am sorry but that commits the cardinal sin imo for a FPS. That's why me and my mates stuck to 8-player Timesplitters 2 via multi-tap and link cable. I think my brother completed it and says it's very good, I got stuck on like level two.
Tomb Raider Anniversary- Great game. Probably the last great game on the PS2....unless God Of War II was released later? I am not sure the excellent Tomb Raider even needed a remake, but it got one anyway and it''s very good. Now remake Tomb Raider II! That is just as good, if not better than the first one!
Yeah Kel I am playing the PSOne version. I think the game is rather easy at the moment. Sabin and Edgar are very powerful and Gau is stupidly good....however I think I am going to give up on him as walking around in he Veldt trying to find the right enemy to learn new rages for 5 hour on end isn' my idea of fun. I guess I could use Cyan to make the game harder, but I don't really like him.
I am up to the bit now where your party (in my case- Edgar, Locke, Celes and Gau) find Terra in her esper state and obtain their first Espers.

Kel?
Im honoured obviously lol
Im really sorry I assumed you played it before otherwise I hope I haven't given away any spoilers, I assume your at Zozo to see her, I was never meh'd about gau or the brothers, my final party was Locke, Celes, Terra and Mog were unstoppable, I found that very quickly Gau becomes very obsolete as the final bosses and dungeons really hit hard but maybe thats because I never usually used him all the way through

haha wtf. I just saw a WoW bannr and assumed it was Electra rofl. I did thing "Cloudy" was an odd choice for a banner but yeah....I'm dumb.
I didn't seen any spoilers anyway lol.
Well Gau has the strongest spells, at least on my game anyway, but to get them you have to learn them from enemies which takes an age to do.

I fancied a rest from FF VI, so I am now playing FF VII. I have decided not to do a normal play through however. I am not going to use any Materia at all, other than the Enemy Skills materia. It's been pretty tough so far. I keep running low on poitions and have no other way to heal myself. It's fun tough.
