Lol, I just saw this on ESPN.com
"French volleyball team" haha!!
It looks like everyone thinks lucky cheating France will be seeded and Netherlands with their 100% record in qualification won't. Typical slime Fifa.

These are the results Group A South Africa Slovakia Honduras Chile Group B Germany Serbia Japan Uruguay Group C Italy Portugal New Zealand Paraguay Group D France Denmark Mexico Ghana Group E Brazil Switzerland South Korea Nigeria Group F England Greece USA Algeria Group G Argentina Holland North Korea Cameroon Group H Spain Slovenia Australia Ivory Coast I'd take that.

So it has been announced today that England will be seeded! Yes! Holland too. Double yes! That means both will be looking to avoid the French and Portugal who are not seeded due to their lower ranks on the Fifa world rankings in October.

If I was in your shoes second to be drawing with South Africa I would like to face England in the group stage rather than the other six seeds. Btw Flyers here are 2 of the worst possible groups for the USA and the best possible group that can come out of the draw. USA Nightmare Groups Brazil France USA Ivory Coast Or; Spain Portugal USA Ghana But you could also get a really easy group like; South Africa Slovenia USA North Korea

I dunno about that, I think you have a fairly good chance of making it out of the group stage. Sadly you've been kinda screwed by being grouped with the Asian and Oceanic countries as bar Mexico and maybe Australia & South Korea you should be able to beat the rest in your pot easily... but won't get to face them. If you get South Africa you should be able to make it and even if you don't so long as you avoid France, Portugal and Ivory Coast you have a great chance and with the way France & Portugal have been playing you can beat those.

So the draw is being done by my favourite woman in the world Charlize Theron. *Sigh* During the practice draw when she pulled out France she said "Ireland". Haha, awesome. I love her. Just moments to go now!

Okay tonight saw lots of World Cup nations compete in friendly matches. Here are the results of the matches involving them.
Algeria 0 - 3 Serbia
This is encouraging for both England and the USA as Algeria could cause an upset. Serbia on the other hand could be real dark horses to make the later stages, though they are in a very tough group.
Austria 2 - 1 Denmark
Austria aren't that bad, but this isn't a good for Danish hopes of making it to Round 2.
Bosnia 2 - 1 Ghana
Wow, what a shocker. Many are pegging Ghana as Africa's best chance. Of course Ghana will be in their home continent.
England 3 - 1 Egypt
Good result here. Egypt are a great team and are equally as good as Algeria.
France 0 - 2 Spain
So the French volleyball team lose again. Spain are on fire at the moment and have to be favourites to win. France on the other hand will struggle to get past the group stage based on current form.
Germany 0 - 1 Argentina
So Argentina won the battle between these two old foes. Both have to be considered favourites, but what a turnaround Maradona has done here?
Greece 0 - 2 Senegal
Wtf? Forget the heroics of 2002, Senegal aren't very good and this is a terrible result for the Greeks. I guess we may get Euro 2008 'Not score a goal' Greece rather than Euro 2004 'Champions'.
Italy 0 - 0 Cameroon
Hmmm, interesting. The champions have an easy group and could easily make it to the later stages, but if Cameroon can hang in with them, away from home, then they could be very dangerous in Africa.
Ivory Coast 0 - 2 South Korea
Well well well. Ivory Coast have been every-bodies favourite African side most likely to win, but here they lost to an underrated South Korean side at home. How will Ivory Coast be able to beat Brazil and Portugal if they lose this? This will surely give North Korea hope of not being humiliated in that group. As for South Korea I think they could make it out of their group and are capable of making the quarter finals.
Nigeria 5 - 2 Congo
However is South Korea are to make it to Round 2 they will need to overcome Nigeria who hammered Congo. However iy was Congo to be fair....
Holland 2 - 1 USA
The Dutch look unstoppable don't they? The USA have proved again though that they can hang in their with the giants of the sport.
Portugal 2 - 0 China
Portugal may be in one of the two groups of death, but I wouldn't bet against them surviving.
Slovakia 1 - Norway
Well Norway aren't bad, but maybe Slovakia flattered to desieve in qualfying?
Slovenia 4 - 1 Quatar
Slovenia prove that they must not be taken lightly by England or the USA again. Just ask Russia for proof on that.
South Africa 1 - 1 Nambia
If South Africa were a wrestler it's fans would be chanting "Please don't die!" right about now ahead of 2010.
Switzerland 1 - 3 Ururguay
I don't rate the Swiss that much and think the best they can do is make the 2nd round. Uruguay on the other hand are a great team. Everyone was saying that France have an easy group, but I just don't get it as it involves the hosts, Mexico and Uruguay. France could easily find themselves gong out in round 1 again and Uruguay, and Mexico to be fair, could cause a few upsets...
Turkey 2 - 0 Honduras
Honduras have no chance in hell and were it not for New Zealand they would be the rank outsiders.

England were a mixed bag tonight.
Wasn't impressed with Upson in the slightest......there must be a better back up to Terry and Ferdinand!??! Walcott had a decent opening 5 minutes and then completely disappeared, this is a man desperately short on form and confidence....which is bad news when Lennon isn't fit and Wright-Phillips blows hot and cold all the time. Thankfully he blew very hot in his bit-part appearance as did Crouch. If it's going to be Rooney plus one then Crouch has as good a chance as any.
Milner has to be a dead cert for the World Cup squad......versatile in several positions and always ultra dependable he's been the best English player in the Premier League this season besides Rooney in my opinion.
Plenty to think about in the coming months for Fabio but he'll be happy with the second half response after such a indifferent first 45 minutes.......roll on June!
