Pure craziness in Africa thus far today!
Tunisa were leading Nigeria by a point today and knew a win over Mozambique would send them through while Nigeria had to beat Kenya and cross their fingers.
The top two looked like this prior to the games; 1. Tunisa- 11 Points- +4 GD- Goals Scored 7 2. Nigeria- 9 Points- +4 GD- Goals Scored 6
-6 minutes gone however Kenya scored! Terrible start for the Nigerians in their must-win game. Table: 1. Tunisa- 12 Points- +4 GD- Goals Scored 7 2. Nigeria- 9 Points- +3 GD- Goals Scored 6
-With less than a half hour to go though Nigeria got a goal back in the 62nd minute while the other game remained goaless.
1. Tunisa- 12 Points- +4 GD- Goals Scored 7 2. Nigeria- 10 Points- +4 GD- Goals Scored 7
-Three minutes later however Nigeria scored again to top the table and worry every Tunisian!
1. Nigeria- 12 Points- +5 GD- Goals Scored 8 2. Tunisa- 12 Points- +4 GD- Goals Scored 7
-However with just 11 minutes to go Nigeria's world cup dreams were damaged when Kenya got a goal back themselves.
1. Tunisa- 12 Points- +4 GD- Goals Scored 7 2. Nigeria- 10 Points- +4 GD- Goals Scored 8
- BUT with 7 minutes go Nigeria scored again and with the other game being 0-0 STILL Nigeria woud be going to the world cup!!
1. Nigeria- 12 Points- +5 GD- Goals Scored 9 2. Tunisa- 12 Points- +4 GD- Goals Scored 7
-HOWEVER seconds later a goal was scored in the other game.......... but for Mozambique!! And that's the way the games ended with a 2-3 win to Nigeria and a 1-0 Tunisian defeat- damn they must be furious at themselves!
Final standings: 1. Nigeria- 12 Points- +5 GD- Goals Scored 9 2. Tunisa- 11 Points- +3 GD- Goals Scored 7
Nigeria make the world cup! YES!!! Come on Cameroon do the same!

Cameroom make it to 2010!
Elsewhere in Africa Egypt are winning 1-0 over Algeria, but it might not be enough. Russia look good, leading the first leg 2-0 against Slovenia.

And as soon as I posted that Sloevnia get a crucial away goal! Rather undeserved, but now all they need to do is win 1-0 at home Wednesday and Russia will be out!

No fucking way Egypt have scored in the 95th bloody minute making it 2-0 against Algeria!
That makes both nations level on points, goal difference, goals scored and head-to-head results..... we are now getting a replay Wednesday!
What an amazing day this is and still 5 qualifiers to go!

The Algerian bus had rocks thrown at it in Egypt prior to their game Saturday and in return Egyptian shops and buissness were burnt down in Algers', but it's all about the football now- unil the messy bloody battle after 90 minutes obviously and it's Algeria who are winning 1-0 thanks to a great volley.
Meanwhile after a goalless draw in Athens Greece and now beating the Ukraine in Kiev 1-0 meaning the quater finalists from 2006 need to score two goals!
Thanks to that away goal in Russia last Saturday Slovenia only need 1, but at the moment it's tied 0-0.
All three games are now in their 2nd halves.

Algeria have done it!
Egypt had only one real chance it seemed and despite having most of the possession didn't many anything!
Good game though. Also a good game is the Ukraine/Greece affair and like Egypt Ukraine are all over their opponents but despite some great shots have not got a goal, let alone two. I am currently watching this game with Spanish commentary, very funny.

Greece are in the world cup!!
It sure as hell wasn't pretty, but then flare has never been their strong suit, but they won. They had 10 players behind the ball for almost the entire 2nd half and defended well, but Ukraine should have scored a few regardless. Their finishing was utterly woeful. Croatia must be angry at themselves as looking at this match they could have beaten either team.
But Greece did it and you have to say they deserve it. How can deny some of this squad who famously won Euro 04 a chance to play in a world cup? Well done Greece!
Just Slovenia/Russia, Bosnia/Portugal, France/Ireland and Uruguay/Costa Rica to go!

Sadly I can't find a live feed of the Slovenia/Russia game, but am watching the other two. Portugal have had the best chance of their game, but meanwhile Ireland are outplaying France right now. Come on Eire!
