Well with 2008 behind us it's time to move on to 2009. Tbh i thought 2008 in film was pretty shitty. While there were some absolutely amazing films in 08 there was a huge amount of shit being produced.
Hopefully 2009 will be better.
So yeah what movies are you looking forward to seeing in 09? I'll post mine later...

I don't know what films are coming out?
Slumdog Millionaire is meant to be the feel-good Juno film of the year, but I have no idea what else is coming out.
Oh, wait I know one film- Tekken!!!!! Nathan Jones is playing Craig Murdoch! This could be incredible!!

i don't know of too many 09 films tbh.
The film i'm looking forward to watching above all else is Synecdoche, New York. Yes, it was released in 08, but my theatre never ended up getting it, so i'll have to wait to see Charlie Kaufman's latest film on dvd. Probably have to special order it, and while i'm at that i'll order another of his movies, Human Nature.
The only other movies i'm looking forward to are; watchmen, Terminator: Salvation and Harry Potter 6. Watchmen because the trailer is ridiculously awesome. Terminator, despite it being by the dude who produces the new series which I'm not a fan of and how he's acting like T-3 never happened (i liked t-3), I'm really interested in seeing the war with the machines. The movie has so many variables that could make it a huge bust, including the lack of Arnie but keeping the same terminator model, I'll probably mark out when I watch it. And Harry Potter because I liked the books.

I'm gonna say X-Men Origins: Wolverine, despite its ridiculously bland title. Brett Ratner isn't directing it, so it has that going for it.

Watchmen for me also. I'm halfway through reading it again, and from what I hear Zach Snyder has stuck very closely to the vision of the book. It is a shame Alan Moore is not involved, and from what I gather there are lots of legal issues involving FOX which hopefully will not see the film butchered beyond recognition.
I really don't fancy having to download a dodgy "fanboy" edit...
Also I am looking forward to "2012", Roland Emmerich's event movie based around the Mayan prophecy that the world will end in 2012. Looks mighty interesting.
Finally, I am really excited about Martin Scorcese's "I Hear You Paint Houses", as it sees the director once again teaming up with Robert De Niro for another real life mob movie. A classic pairing if there ever was one. I watched Mean Streets again the other day. Man what a powerhouse performance by De Niro. He really has picked some turkeys though these past few years.

I'm gonna say X-Men Origins: Wolverine, despite its ridiculously bland title. ! I didnt know there was a new X-men film coming out! The only thing that could make that any better is for Hugh Jackman to still be playing Wolverine...? Im looking forward to the new Terminator film too, Christian Bale is in it so for me that has the ingredients for a great film

Yeah Jackman is playing Wolverine again. This time the film is centered around him, so expect wet seats after the girls have gone home.

I'm more wetting myself over Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool.

Can only sneak on here in little windows at work so can’t really look at the full list, but I think The Bourne Pandemonium is in production, so if that comes out in 2009: I’m looking forward to it.

Okay when I just saw an MSN article about the 40 films to watch out for this year. These caught my eye. entertainment.uk.msn.com/movies/galleries/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=11273338&imageindex=1Okay when I just saw an MSN article about the 40 films to watch out for this year. These caught my eye. Slumdog MillionaireThis looks very good indeed and is No.1 on my list of films I want to see….other than Tekken obviously. The SpiritFrom Frank Miller (300, Sin City), can he make it 3/3? The WrestlerMarisa Tomei as a stripper, hmmmmm. Gran Tourino“Directed by Clint Eastwood”….need I say more? The fact he stars in it too makes it look even better. Lesbian Vampire Killers…..awesome. Monsters Vs AliensDreamworks will never be as good as Pixar and this seems to The Incredibles what Shark’s Tale was to Finding Nemo or Antz was to A Bug’s Life. A pale imitation. That said it’s a mickey take of the brilliant 50’s B-Movie genre. I love the old cheesy B-Movies, so this should be fun. BrunoThe third face of Sasha Baron Cohen makes his feature film debut. Borat surprised me just how good it would be and Bruno is the cleverest of all of Cohen’s characters. It’s such a shame though that Ali G never got a proper film, a good one. Ali G is my favourite. Public EnemiesJohnny Depp. Christian Bale. 1920's gangsters. *Buys ticket* G.I JoeForget Transformers (the new one also comes out in 2009) I grew up playing with GI Joe's. This film should be terrible, but it has Christopher Ecclestone in it, and he's always good. Plus Siena Miller......*drools.* UpPixar are incapeable at making anything less than great, so this should be good. Sherlock HolmesGuy Ritchie taking on literature’s most famous detective seems like a disaster, and it may be one, but Robert Downey Jr. starring it in means the film will be interesting at worst. Can he do a British accent? And for ones which should be utter shit: Fast & FuriousShit title, shitter actors as Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are reunited!…….. Angels & DemonsThe first Da Vinchi Code was awful. This should be worse then. Friday the 13thOMG it’s actually going to be released On Friday the 13th! It’s a remake of the classic horror film, with Jason in….only Jason was never in the original one…what bollocks.

I'm actually looking forward to the new Friday the 13th. It's got Michael Bay attached to it and a few people who have seen it on advance screenings that I have spoken to say it finally brings the slasher movie crashing into the the 21st century.
Other movies for me are just Monsters vs. Aliens and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.

Even though I despise Michael Bay, the new Friday the 13th has caught my interest too. It's not a remake Woo, it's more of a reboot type movie, taking aspects of the first 3. I always used to think Jason was a shitty, shitty movie villain for one major reason; victims run, he walks, victim falls, he catches them. In the trailer, it shows Vorhees running after a chick that's fallen, and that excites me because he suddenly becomes the terrifying monster he's supposed to be.
I still like Freddy Kruger and the whole killing you in your dreams idea much more though. If only that was getting a new movie.
