It was kinda obvious after the MITB switch that WWE was going into emergency booking mode in regards to getting a new SD champions. Great move Edge deserves to be world champion and he was being underutilized on Raw.

Yeah, it did seem that way to me the minute WWE made the switch. The only real question that I would like answering is was it the original plan for Mr. Kennedy to do what Edge did?
Edge deserves to be champion but not on Smackdown. He is easily WWE's best heel and should be WWE Champion rather than John Cena.

Anyway it's a good move. Very good.
Edge can now feud with Batty, Benoit (hopefully) and a feud with a returning Rey would be great fun.

This is just the kinda boost SD needs, aslong as they leave the belt on Edge for awhile and allow him to build a reign unlike his previous 2 stints as WWE champ then he could help finally breath life in2 a show thats been harshly treated sine 04
