From PWInsider.comANOTHER TOP WWE STAR GOES DOWN TO INJURY by Mike Johnson @ 10:59:00 PM on 5/7/2007For those wondering why Ken Kennedy lost the Money in the Bank briefcase to Edge and was completely laid out tonight during Monday Night Raw, the reason is Kennedy suffered a horrible tricep tear over the weekend, tearing it right off the bone during a house show in Poughkeepsie, New York. Kennedy is scheduled to undergo surgery shortly and is expected to out of the ring for an estimated five to seven months. Given the way he was written out, one would think Kennedy will be returning as a babyface but given the way the company changes plans daily, I wouldn't consider that a given until it happens. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Damn that blows, he was just starting to shine as a great star for WWE and for the second succesive year he is taken down by injury. I hope they don't let Edge cash in the MITB and over the next few motnhs they keep having him do "random challenges" for it, until one day Kennedy comes out and beats him for the briefcase.

That must suck for the WWE. I am not a KK fan, but they keep trying to push him to the moon and he keeps getting injured.
Bte, Kennedy as a face, big mistake.

Yeah thats what I'm thinking, he has the cocky edge to him. It's got back to the stage now where fans just cheer heel's because they love too. Much like when Austin got cheers when he was heel and Rock got boo's for being face.
Still 6 to 8 months isn't long, thats what January at the full eight. I guess it's still possible for him to headline WM24.

I don't think the plan was for him to ever headline Mania and it was just a swerve for when he did actually use it. They will probably actually give him the mania title match now though when he comes back.
The WWE have a habbit of turning popular heels face far too soon and they lose overness as a result e.g Carlito, Orton, Cena etc.

Thats the WWE for you, they never know a good thing when they got it.
All I know is, Kennedy is one of the best things WWE have had in a while. A good worker, great on the stick and for once they've actually built him up slowly. I think the correct thing for WWE to do is have him come in the Royal Rumble as a suprise entrance and win. I'd dread to think what they'd do if it was any other way.

So you would have Edge cash-in the money in the bank contract then?

I think I would. Possibly as soon as tonight on Smackdown.
I'd have Batista and Taker go all out in a cage match and then have Edge come out once one of the two have won and do repeat of NYR. Not only would we'd have a new champ on SD but they'd also get the much needed star that smackdown desperatly needs, because lets face it no one likes Batty.

It's got back to the stage now where fans just cheer heel's because they love too. I thought that was the whole point People should cheer for who they love to cheer for, as opposed to who they are told to cheer for. Anyway, Kennedy out is very bad for WWE I think. He has rightly been pushed slowly but surely, but if you remember the last time he was out injured, he used this downtime to hone his mic skills to the high level they are now. And eight month layoff could see Kennedy still appearing regularly as a heel on TV, perfecting his strongest asset - his personality. I think the Money In The Bank should always be treated as a title that can be defended up until the holder decides to cash it in. It would add excitement and create crossovers. At the moment it feels cheap, Edge winning it so soon. I hope Edge cashes it in soon - and loses. It's OK winning the Money In The Bank contract, but you still gotsta win the title shot, otherwise it's worthless. As much as I hate The Lame Khali, at least now we get to see him stomp the shit out of Cena.

*spoilers* Looks like I was right. From WWE.comPittsburgh Stealer By Craig Tello Written: May 8, 2007 PITTSBURGH—The Rated-R Superstar cashed in his newly acquired Money in the Bank title opportunity tonight and knocked the sports-entertainment world off its axis by becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion. Following a beastly, relentless attack from a returning Mark Henry, Edge picked the bones of a bloodied Undertaker to win the first World Heavyweight Championship of his career. With Edge’s nefarious, well-calculated triumph taking place at the close of Undertaker and Batista’s tumultuous caged war, the Steel City became the “Steal City” tonight. Though the night ended with an R-rated celebration, it was originally a night where the fate of the World Heavyweight Championship was to be decided within the merciless walls of a 15-foot high steel cage. For what seemed like an eternity of brutality, Undertaker and Batista took one another to their physical limits, as both warriors nearly exploded through the fortified steel. Beaten and barely able to stand, the challenger and the champion ultimately managed to somehow escape the cage at the exact same moment, ending the contest in a draw. Thus, the epic, four-month rivalry between The Phenom and The Animal – two of the most dominant competitors in SmackDown history – culminated with controversy and indecision, much similar to their fierce Last Man Standing Match at Backlash. Moments after Batista and The Deadman gave every last ounce of themselves in pursuit of the title, the unexpected sound of the World’s Strongest Man’s theme music rung throughout the Mellon Arena. At the end of one of the most savage Steel Cage Match in history, Henry nearly maimed The Phenom and left him a mess in the center of the ring. Only then, with the fallen gladiator ravaged, the Rated-R Superstar would come to claim his championship opportunity. Just 24 hours after shrewdly coaxing Mr. Kennedy into defending the Money in the Bank opportunity and seizing it on Raw, Edge defected to SmackDown at the most opportune moment. One spear and three counts of the referee’s hand later, it was New Year’s Revolution 2006 all over again. Yet again, Edge cashed in the Money in the Bank guarantee for a title match any time, any place, anywhere – this time for the World Heavyweight Championship. As an opportunistic Edge stood as the newly crowned bearer of SmackDown’s richest prize, the very landscape of sports-entertainment morphed to become Rated-R. See this chaotic confrontation between The Animal and The Deadman as well as the new champion’s vile, heinous master plan realized by tuning in Friday night, only on The CW Network. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh yeah, I'm awesome. I had a feeling they would do this as it's obvious the fans aren't into Batista anymore.

I thought that was the whole point People should cheer for who they love to cheer for, as opposed to who they are told to cheer for. Might be wrong, but he could've meant that some cheer heels for the sake of simply being ''rebellious'' (whether they genuinely ''like'' or care about 'em or not), which is certainly not what watching/attending wrestling should be about.

Yeah thats what I meant. WWE shove people like Cena and Batista down our thoats and expect us to like them. It's rebelling against what they expect, even if it doesn't make them think about their product.
