2006's Top 5 WWE Matches

Okay so we (we being myself and Flyers) talked about our top 5 WWE matches in 07 and 08 so now we are on to 2006.

Okay first of all I haven't seen the classic Angle vs Taker at No Way Out, so that's why that match isn't here. Secondly with Angle vs Joe and LAX vs AJ/Daniels I enjoyed TNA much more in 06.

6. Edge, Foley & Lita vs Dreamer, Funk & Beluah- ONS 2006

Okay I wanted this match here so I made it my top 6. This match was BRUTAL! I am sure everyone had to cringe with Funk was entangled in the barbed wire. Edge's pinfall on Beluah is brilliantly disgusting too.

5. Cena vs RVD- ONS 2006

Another one from the same PPV in front of one of the greatest crowds of all time! The highlight of the match being when Cena throws his shirt into the crowd and they keep throwing it back at him! AWESOME"

4. Cena vs Angle vs HBK vs Kane vs Masters vs Carlito- NYR

Another match that was great due to the crowd's reaction of Cena. They were BEGGING for anybody to beat Cena! First of all they wanted Angle to win, then Kane or HBK and then Carlito or Masters. Yes they wanted Masters to win over Cena! Cena wins and everyone is angry until Edge cashes in his MITB briefcase to win the belt!

3. Trish vs Mickie- NRY

Their Mania match nearly stole the show and would have were it not for Foley/Edge but I liked the NYR match more. Imo the best women's match in the WWE since Nakano/Blaze in 1994.

2. Foley vs Edge- Wrestlemania

Wow! Who ever would have thought we'd get a match like this at Mania? The end with Edge spearing Foley (and going head first) into the flaming table is insane.

1. Edge vs Flair- TLC on Raw

A non-tag team TLC? Crazy! Flair in a TLC? WTF? Somehow Flair was up more than up to this match and took some crazy spots here.

Ok, well once again you pick 4 of 5 that would be on my list. So instead I'm going to pick my favorite top 5 from 2006 that isn't on your list.

5. Angle Vs. Taker- No way out

This match was a classic and I thought Angle was simply on the top of his game at the start of 06. Shame they pushed him down and he left for TNA.

4. Mysterio Vs Orton Vs Angle World title – Mania 22

This match only lasted 9 mins and Myserio won which totally ruined this match. However, Angles suplex on Orton and Mysterio was an amazing spot.


3. HBK Vs Vince – Mania 22

This was a great hardcore match. For some reason Vince will have a good hardcore match here and there and this was one of them. Great buildup to this match.


2. Cena Vs Edge TLC- Unforgiven


While this wasn’t anywhere near some of the best TLC’s it was pretty decent. Some nice spots here which ended in that FU off the ladder through the tables.

1. London/Kendrick Vs Regal/Taylor Vs MNM Vs Hardys Ladder match- Armageddon

Simply amazing ladder match. Three amazing teams here all in action. So many great spots and was given 20mins of action. Everything was amazing here. Poor Mercury....


2006 started off amazing. I was in love with wwe here but it really tailed off towards the end. The end of 2006 was so bad that I stopped watching wrestling for 2 ½ years after 2006.

It was also rated worst wrestling company in many magazines.
