Wow... this is random... I can understand Daffney vs Rayne but why the other two? Anyway it could be good. Three Shimmer Girls (albiet Bolt was one of the worst) and ODB, who I hate. I'd drop ODB and Bolt from the match myself.

Doomsday Chamber of Blood Match: Abyss vs. Matt Morgan

For some reason these two just don't work well together. Bring back Tomko! He had a great feud with Abyss.

Lethal Lockdown: Team (Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Jeff Jarrett and Daniels vs. Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Booker T and Kevin Nash)

Now this could be good. Glad they went with Love and not Sky as Love is the better worker of the two. I hope Kong retains and then feuds with a debuting Sarah Stock.

Hmmm, this could go either way. I'm leaning towards not very good at this moment in time as Foley doesn't like cage matches and both are in bad shape.

I just checked. A few were finished at "Sacrifice" (May) but the last one ended at "Victory Road" (July). I don't know why, but I'm always interested in these things. Maybe it's the poor man's PCS.

Anyway I just figured one might be going on soon since I'd heard rumors that they might bring in Doug Williams to team with that Gladiator knob along with a few others, so the UK might get a proper team this time around (not "Team International").

And hopefully it'll be Team USA this year instead of "Team TNA".

With Petey Williams leaving, I don't see a Team Canada happening unfortunately.

I'd cut my losses with Brutus if I was TNA. I don't think he'll ever be very good tbh, but according to websites he's Dixie Carter's pet project.

I always seem to stop watching TNA and wrestling in general around the X-Cup time. How many non Americans do they have? Eric Young, Team No Limit, Joe, Brutus. Are LAX American or Mexican?

They might need to raid AAA and other feds for talent if they want to do one this year.

Last year, the only people in TNA at the time were (surprise) the people on Team TNA, so I'm sure they'll round together an IWGP team for Japan and they always seem to find enough people for Team Mexico. Daivari was on Team International, but that was his debut in TNA.

LAX are both American but I'm sure that wouldn't stop TNA from putting them on Team Mexico...although Hernandez doesn't really fit the whole X Division theme.

Be sure to chant "We want wrestling" and "Fire Russo" during the crappy segments. Maybe try and get a "Kaz" chant during Suicide's match too.

It was like $25. Not bad, upper deck but it's a tiny arena. I don't know like 3/4 the roster but it should be fun. I'm excited to see what the cage looks like live. It'll be the first wrestling event I've been to since 04. My next event will be in July which was going to be Great American Bash but they switched it with Night of Champions. (thank god)

lmao, you were lucky there! Night of Champions is what Wrestlemania should be with all the titles defended. I dunno how the WWE will screw that up, but I wouldn't put it past them.

You know if I didn't get this PPV for free I soooo would order it anyway!

I don't think the PPV will be great but the buildup has been and this weeks Impact was awesome!

For the first time in like forever I was able to watch Impact and stop being critical (well minus Tenay not calling Daniels' BME and West basically being like ".....anyway what about Jarrett?" during the Kong/Beautiful People segment- 'And whenever Poochy isn't around everyone should ask, "Where's Poochy?"') and just mark out.

The Foley/Sting build has been phenomenal. I was unsure about Foley interviewing Cactus Jack but as soon as Sting came out I loved the segment, and we got Curryman music! The 3D/Beer Money angle had already been great but this weeks events took this feud to a whole new level, the chair shots to the head were disgusting however. NOBODY should take a chair shot to the head like that imo.

Elsewhere I am enjoying the Beautiful People vs Knockous feud though were they cutting Kong's hair extensions? WTF? The Machine Gun/LAX/No Limit match at Lockdown should be great and I am liking the Jarrett heel turn tease. Daniels return was well handled but what was with his attire and his music seems to have changed, boo!

To show you how much I enjoyed this show I marked out so much when Abyss slapped Cody Deaner- god that as hilarious!- and then again just after when Matt Morgan did the run in!


The best Impact since.......... forever?

So, what did everyone think about this years lockdown ppv?

I thought it was amazing, and not just cause I was there.

I only had my phone on me and once the show started I couldn't be bothered to take pictures as I just wanted to enjoy the show. So I took some pics of the cage and arena when I got there and so they are kinda hard to see cause It's from my phone...




(Note: this was when I first got there so the arena looks kinda empty)
When I got to my seats they were actually not bad for upper deck. I liked being up that high especially with the cage cause I can kinda look down from the top which was cool.
I was shocked by the amount of people that were there. Nowhere near a sellout don’t get me wrong but there was a pretty decent amount of people.

Ok, so first match of the night was the dark match Eric Young vs Danny Bonaduce.
Bonaduce who I have no idea who he is walked down to the ring, but before getting into the cage decided to go towards the fans and talk some smack. Some guy ran towards him and started throwing punches at Bondauce. I thought this was a work at first bit it wasn’t. The idiot fan was carried off by two security guards. The bit made me laugh though we were all kind of confused what happened. Anyway the match really did suck and I really can’t remember what happened until the end. Rhyno came out and speared Bonaduce with a really powerful spear. The dude went back across the ring.

So the ppv started with the pyros that were extremely loud and made the entire arena smoky for like the first five minutes.

The first match was Suicide vs. Kiyoshi vs. Jay Lethal vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Consequences Creed.

I only stood up and cheered for Lethal, as did most of the crowd. You can’t help but love the guy’s gimmick. It was a really good match and I thought Lethal could’ve won at one point but he was pinned. Suicide ended up diving off the top of the cage onto the outside which was really cool ending the match.

Next match was ODB vs Madison Rayne vs Daffney vs Bolt. This match bored/annoyed me. ODB is the most annoying wrestler ever and Daffney’s high pitch screaming echoed across the arena hurting my ears.

I think the The Motor City Machine Guns vs. No Limit vs. LAX matched followed the womens match. Woo said this match could be match of the year and I totally agree with that statement. Wow, talk about a great tag team match. All three tag teams worked great here and their was so many double team moves to content anyone. I don’t know the wrestlers too well but the big LAX member was picking people up in the center of the ring and tossing them against the cage. That was so cool even though it was done like 20 times during the match.

Awesome Kong vs Angelina Love vs Taylor Wilde. While the first womens match was boring, this one started out great. I marked out for Love but didn’t think she would win. About half way into the match Kong did a front flip which got everyone out of their seats. The crowd was going nuts after Kong did that and it was the second biggest move pop of the night. Anyway, Love landed on her head and my friend noticed right away that she might be hurt. He ended up being right because when Wilde pinned Love the ref had to use his other arm to make Loves arm come off the mat. Anyway Love kinda just rolled onto Wilde and the match ended really soon. I’m guessing when Wilde put Love in a sleeper the ref went to them and told them how to end the match. After the match Love was really out of it. The ref had to hold Love from falling to the mat. Hopefully she is ok, but when they were leaving Sky had to grab the belt and parade out of the arena.

Abyss vs Matt Morgan

Meh, this was a big letdown sadly. This match was just way to slow and we got the first boring chant of the night. Morgan won after Dr. Stevie or whatever his gimmick is stopped Abyss from using weapons (even though Abyss shanked Morgan with a piece of glass earlier).



Beer Money (c) vs Team 3D

This was a great match. The crowd was so into it. They started in the ring for like 2 mins and they quickly left the ring and went into the crowd. I have no idea why but I guess they didn’t think fans would just watch them fight next to them but the fans got a little out of control. They clearly didn’t have enough security as one of the beer money people were on the floor Bubba was stomping on him, like 20 fans came and started kicking him too. Finally they made it back to the ring safely. On the outside Devon took a great table shot which was botched in the end when one of the Beer Money people went along for the ride by mistake. Anyway everyone chanted tables and I guess since the Dudley’s did bring the tables they thought they could chant anything and their wishes would come true as a we want fire chant spread throughout the arena. Anyway Dudley’s won and it was off to my most anticipated match.

Next was onto my most anticipated match of the evening.

Kurt Angle, Booker T, Scott Stiener & Kevin Nash vs Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe & Christopher Daniels

I always thought the rules for this match was a little silly as the match really doesn’t truly begin till everyone is in the ring like 10 mins after the bell has rung. Although it was funny how long Joe took to get out of the ring. Also I was so scared when Nash came out that he would blow his knee out. Me and my friend were taking bets to see how long it would take for him to get in the ring. AJ Styles went to the top of the cage and fought Angle up there for a bit. Angle climbed down, well actually he fell lol but the crowd booed by AJ was still up there. He got on the ledge of the roof of the cage and leaped off and went through the roof landing on the people down below. That was easily the spot of the night and everyone went crazy. I loved it, it was amazing to see. AJ is the man.

At the end, the lights went out and Bobby Lashley made his appearance. Everyone cheered and I did too. Even though I hate Lashley, I couldn’t help but cheer and be excited as the arena was electric when that happened. The atmosphere was amazing with AJ’s spot and now Lashley being on TNA.


Main Event: Sting (c) vs Foley

This match sucked, worst of the night. However, tbh by the time the match started everyone was pretty much out of it by all the events that happened previously. People actually started walking out mid way through the match and I really could’nt blame them, they saw what they needed to that night. Foley won and as soon at the ref finished the pin we left the arena to beat the traffic. I was 1/2 way out of the parking garage when the show finally ended but I don’t think I missed anything except Dudley’s celebrating with Foley.

While I wasn’t happy TNA decided to pick one of the most dangerous areas (North Philly) to have a show I was glad I went. For only $25 I had the time of my life. Easily one of the best shows I have been too and tbh I don’t think my $90 lower level Night of Champions ticket will live up to the show I saw last night.

While TNA can get confusing with their stupid stipulations and it looked like some wrestlers just tried to do stunts without even attempting to make it seem like they were trying to actually wrestle, it was very enjoyable. A lot of amazing spots was capped off with AJ’s amazing Dive through the cage which I can’t stop picturing in my mind.

TNA can come back to Philly anytime they like, as long as I am concerned.

I just skimmed your review at the moment to avoid spoilers but it glad you had a good time. Shame you didn't like Foley vs Sting but I always felt they had no way to match the hype as Foley isn't good in cages and Sting didn't even have a good match with Angle.

But I am really looking forwards to watching the two tag team title mactches so I'm glad they were good.

I too have avoided the reading of the review, from what I understand Daniels pulled a double shift last night and wrestled as Suicide too. Good for him, hopefully TNA see they have someone who is willing to work thier ass off for their sub-par product.

I too wasn't expecting much from Foley vs. Sting. It's just another case of the young guys getting pushed further down the card.

Like you Woo, I'm only interested in the two tag matches. They should be good. Apart from that I've come to learn after watching TNA's product over the last year and a half religiously that even if it looks good on paper, dont often expect it to be any good when it airs.

Currently watching this back on Sky+. I waited an hour or so, so that I could skip ads and the crappy matches. Currently watching the IWGP Jr Tag Title Match. It's alright, but the camera work as to be one of the worst I have seen on a wrestling show and it's making this PPV almost unwatchable.
