TNA HOPES TO RUN A PPV IN THE UK IN 2009 by Ian Ogier @ 2009-01-21 17:52:09
Tonight, at the LG Arena, TNA ran its Maximum Impact show in Birmingham, with some matches being taped for SpikeTV. After the intermission, Dixie Carter addressed the fans, and an announcement was made that TNA Wrestling is "currently negotiating" to run one of its live pay-per-view events in 2009 here in the United Kingdom. Obviously, they haven't confirmed any dates/times/venues (although JB did drop a subtle hint that Birmingham would be a good place to run it later in the show).
Obviously, this is great news for those of us in the UK if it ever goes ahead. ------
A UK PPV would be awesome. Bring it to London instead!

(although JB did drop a subtle hint that Birmingham would be a good place to run it later in the show). That's called "getting a cheap pop". But a ppv anywhere here would indeed be superb for us UK fans. What were the attendances to these shows btw? I'm hoping that the Wembley show is sold out, and they use the whole arena instead of only half. TNA seems to currently be on an even playing field with WWE here in the UK. I've attended several televised wrestling shows, and the atmosphere is completely different to a house show, where everything seems relatively run-of-the-mill.
