Well we had film of the year and sporting moment etc, so why not do this. Tbh it was a very easy choice for me. I agree with Gamespot's game of the year they chose in this video. If you didn't click the link the game is Metal Gear Solid 4. It's simply the greatest series ever and it all came to an end in this game. Metal Gear Solid 4 sure has some problems (I could talk all day about them...) and I do think Metal Gear Solid 3 and probably 1 are better and much more coherent, but that doesn't stop this being anything less than amazing. I bought my PS3 just for this game really, well worth it. The only problem is what now? Metal Gear's over....my life is officially empty. I guess they could create new characters and continue on with a similar story but it wouldn't be the same. I'm still hoping for a spin-off prequel set after the last one Portable Ops, only this time you'll play as Ocelot.

Last year was supposed to be the biggest in gaming history but it so undelivered. GTA IV turned out to be one of the worst in the series and Metal Gear 4 to me, wasn't even as good as it was hyped up to be.
To me game of the year goes to Little Big Planet. Something new and fresh, for once Sony did good.

The only new game... well expansion really... I played was Wrath of the Lich King. It's good but neither new or a console game.
Fable 2 lasted about 10 minutes in my Xbox and haven't yet played GOW2.
