Ok So this is 2 top 10’s. One is of your favorite ppv cards, the other is the 10 worst ppvs. Since I have only watched wwe starting from 1998 this is what I consider the top 10 from 98 to about mid 07 when I stopped watching wrestling
Best ppv’s: 10. Summer Slam 03 I chose this ppv for the depth of the card. The elimination chamber, Eddie vs. Angle, RVD vs. Kane were just a few of the matches that headlined this summer classic. 9. Vengeance 01 The little tournament to determine the undisputed champion was three of the best matches I’ve seen in 2001. 8. WrestleMania 19 This ppv had a pretty deep card. HBK vs. Y2J, Rock vs. Austin, Hogan vs. Vince, Brock vs. Angle, and HHH vs. Booker. 7. WWE One Night Stand 06 I know everyone will say the first ons was 100 times better when it comes to what it meant to ECW fans. But I was to young to really get into ECW so I wasn’t into that ppv as much as die hard ecw fans were. The second ons was amazing I thought. The tag match between Foley,Edge, Dreamer, and Funk was unbelievable. So many things happened in that match and I like Funk stole the show with his amazing bumps. 6. No Way Out 01 Two matches made this ppv what it was. The amazing Rock vs. Angle match was one of the best matches in 2000. But earlier that night the three stages of hell match between HHH and Austin was what really got me into this ppv. 5. Royal Rumble 00 When it comes to royal rumble cards this tops it all imo. That amazing tag team table match between the hardy’s, dudly’s, and E & C had me standing the entire time. Just another classic to their feud. Also HHH vs. Cactus Jack was just a great hardcore match. Well HHH sucks but Foley was spot on here. Also while the Rumble match itself wasn’t that great Rock one so it’s ok. 4. Survivor Series 98 A concept like none other and it delivered. 3. WrestleMania 22 I really enjoyed this ppv. Edge vs. Foley was amazing, as was the money in the bank. The triple thret match for the world title could’ve been longer and better but it had it’s moments. It seems even the shitty matches on this card had it’s moments like Taker taking that bump against Henry. 2. WrestleMania 20 Five hours of wrestling that delivered the entire evening 1. WrestleMania 17
I thought the whole card here was amazing. Austin vs. Rock I believe was their best match and I’ve never seen a crowd into a match as much as they were here. Also that amazing TLC match and who could forget Angle and Benoit.
Worst ppv’s 10. No Mercy 2003 Ok where to start. First was the Vince vs. Stephanie in a I quit match. The fact that Vince and his daughter where going to wrestle was wrong on so many levels. The match itself was extremely shitty. The main event was a biker chain match between Brock and Undertaker. The match was so boring and the biker chain while stupid wasn’t even a factor in the match.
9. Survivor Series 2004 Maven was in the main event, enough said.
8. New Year's Revolution 2005 The whole card was surrounded around the Elimination Chamber match. Besides that one match which was ok there was nothing on this card worth watching.
7. No Way Out 2007 What a shitty main event. A glorified tag match. FFS I thought I was watching Raw
6. Judgment Day 2003 This ppv pissed me off because HHH got himself DQ’d in a title match. First of all that should never happen in a title match on a ppv but it happened the second time. (first was n.w.o 03) 5. One Night Stand 2007 The whole card was horrible and the main event was absolutely shitty wrestling. John Cena and Kali just stood by the stage throwing punches till Cena picked him up and FU’d him onto something. Was just a stunt show instead of a wrestling match.
4. Summer Slam 2005 I don’t know what was worse Rey and Eddie botching the ladder match numerous times or HBK flopping way to much to Hogan.
3. Vengeance 2006 DX vs. Spirit Squad main event. Need I say more?
2. The Great American Bash 2006 LMAO at this ppv. The card itself was complete shit but right before the ppv ½ the card got some kinda of liver problem that sidelined the superstars and had some last minute replacements come in ruining any feuds that lead up to this ppv.
1. December to Dismember 2006 This ppv was worse then an episode of Heat. This not only embarrassed ECW but put wwe back 15 years with this card.

I remember needing to watch December to Dismember because I was going to review it for an English class. My God it was laughably bad.
However I maintain the opening tag match between MNM and the Hardyz was very good.
... and lmao at the liver comment.

Here are my top 10. I really wanted to put Wrestlemania 19 and No Way Out 2004 on my list, but couldn't fit them in.
10. Vengeance 2003
Sable vs. Stephanie McMahon. Vince vs. Zack Gowan. Need I saw more? Okay obviously I do as those two were crap. Okay so this started off with a terrific match featuring Eddie Gurerrero and Chris Benoit, probably the best these two had on a PPV. This was when Eddie's cheating gimmick was starting to get him over as a face and so there where a lot of cheers for both men which always makes a match more fun. Then there was Haas and Benji in possibly the best PPV match as a team against Rey Rey and Kidman- it was great. The main event between Angle/Lesnar/Big Show was pretty good too as was Billy Gunn/Jamie Noble. Hell I even enjoyed the bar room brawl.
9. Backlash 2004
Fresh off an awesome Mania was this equally good PPV. Featuring two Match Of The Year Candidates- Orton/Foley and HBK/HHH/Benoit. The triple threat match wasn't quite as good as the Mania one, but that's the greatest triple threat I’ve ever seen outside of TNA. Orton vs. Foley however was incredible. Mick said this is his favourite match he ever had and it's hard to argue with that. It was an incredible feud that made Orton a star and proved Foley is one of the best promo guys there ever was. There was also a handicap match with Y2J taking on Christian and Trish in a feud that was golden.
8. New Years Revolution 2005
From Flyers’ worst 10 PPVs onto my top 10. Up first was the red hot Edge against Ric Flair in a match that ended their terrific feud. Speaking of great feuds we then had Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James in an amazing match. I’d say possibly the best WWE Women’s match ever and I think it was better than their Mania rematch two months late. Lets just ignore Gregory Helms vs. Lawler…no idea what that was doing here and focus on HHH vs. Big Show. Again this was a great feud and Big Show was super hot here and this was when HHH wasn’t obsessed with the title…shame that didn’t last. Then we had Shelton facing big Vis who was after his Mamma…..and a Divas Gauntlet Battle Royale with Maria, Candice, Ashley, Torrie and Victoria- obviously it wasn’t great but they sure looked incredible, Candice especially, that it was well worth a second look.
However this PPV was incredible for one reason- John Cena. The biggest wrestler since the hey days of Rock/Austin John Cena is simply the best in the world at getting crowd reactions. And my god what reactions, around this time every match he had was just brilliant, not because of the wrestling quality (though they were pretty good too) but due to the fact he was beloved by half the crowd and despised by the other half which made for a fantastic atmosphere. On this night he was HATED and people were begging for somebody to take his title in the Elimination Chamber match featuring himself HBK, Kurt Angle, Kane and new main eventers Carlito and Chris Masters.
It started with Cena against HBK and Shawn was the crowd favourite by miles. Then Carlito entered and impressed all by doing some crazy spots. Then came Angle who earlier in the night said he hates the blacks and Jesus, but the fans will cheer him anyway and he was right. Angle was over HUGE and the crowd wanted him to become champ….however one Sweet Chin Music later and he was out. Masters in next, to boos, and then Kane who was a face around this time. The two heels left (Carlito and Masters) then eliminated Kane, to jeers, and HBK afterwards to even louder ones. Such was the heat on Cena that the crowd had turned the heels into an favourites, begging for either Masters or Carlito to win, but they didn’t and Cena won. The crowd weren’t happy but then Edge cashed in his money in the bank deal and gave us an incredible kick start to the year by becoming champion. Amazing.
7. Wrestlemania 21
Okay EVERY title match blew. There I said it. Both world titles and the women’s championship matches were poor and Akebono vs. Big Show was god awful. But I loved this PPV as EVERY non-title/non-sumo match delivered. Rey vs. Eddie was on first and I loved it and no the “OMGZ STOP ADJUSTING HIS MASK!” comments everyone says about Mysterio didn’t bother me as I was watching the match. Not Rey’s face. This was followed by the first ever, and best, MitB match. Edge, Benoit, Christian, Jericho, Benjamin, Kane- what a fucking line up! It delivered BIG time. Then it was onto the Undertake match. This time it was against the Legend Killer and it was amazing. It really would have made sense if Taker lost here and I felt that he might as the near falls were very convincing. I think this is Taker’s best Mania match. Lastly we had Angle vs. HBK which was all kinds of awesome.
6. Summerslam 2002
Any PPV that starts off with Kurt Angle is good. This started off with Angle vs. Rey and it was brilliant. Then Edge vs. Gurerrero and Benoit vs. RVD were very good too. The main event with Rock and Brock was great, but it was all about Shawn Michaels’ return. We genuinely had no idea if he was fit enough to get back into the ring due to his back injuries and they played on that perfectly here. It was a perfectly booked match in a great feud. It was also the last genuinely great match Triple H ever had.
5. Wrestlemania XX
Great PPV. Cena vs. Show was a good start, John was still fun here. Taker vs. Kane wasn’t as bad as some made out, plus it gave us great returns of Dead Undertaker and hell yes, Paul Bearer! I marked out when I heard his voice. There was the handicap match with Rock N Sock against Evolution that was top fun, Rocky mocking Flair was a riot (also was this The Rock’s last ever match?). Angle vs. Eddie was sublime and Christian vs. Chris Jericho was even better imo. I thought the whole feud, including the pay-off in this match, between these two (and Trish) was one of the best booked feuds ever.
Okay so now we come to the bad. Some moaned that the CW match was too short, but it was great fun and involved Chavo Guerrero , Último Dragón, Shannon Moore, Jamie Noble, Funaki, Nunzio, Billy Kidman, Rey Mysterio, Tajiri, and Akio! What a line-up! Also Dragon falling over twice was fun. Then there was Brock vs. Goldberg….I dunno what happened here….it was odd. However there was some good to this too- Austin asking for a beer from the farside of the ring and failing to catch it sending it straight into his face was hilarious and must have hurt loads!
The we have HBK vs. HHH vs.……Chris Benoit. Ugh. A five star match and MOTY for me. Hell best main event at Mania ever as far as I am concerned. The trouble with it is- Benoit. The final moments of this PPV where Eddie and Chris hugged in the ring is the greatest wrestling moment I have ever seen, but with the tragedy that happened with them two it’s now very hard to watch.
4. The Royal Rumble 2001
Flyers said the 2000 Rumble had the best card and indeed it was very good, but the actual Rumble was shit. It’s up there with 1995’s and 1998’s as the worst Rumble match ever. This year’s second is probably second only to 1992’s. Yes, the second best Rumble ever has Drew Carey in. Rather than say “Anybody can win it!” they pretty much said “Who will win? Rock, Austin, Taker, Kane or Rikishi?” which worked out well as they could make them 5 look strong without having to worry about hurting anybody else. So we had the “are they on the same page or not?” Taker/Kane angle, Rikshi being the favourite and coming in No.30, Rock lasting over half an hour and returns by Haku, Honkeytonk man and The Big Show! Show looked like a million dollars in this match. Austin won as we all know, but this was Kane’s Rumble. He eliminated 11 people, he lasted close to an hour and ending up as the runner up. The highlight of his career no doubt and the best rumble performance ever as far as I am concerned.
The reason there were only 5 big names in the Rumble was because the card was very good. HHH vs. Angle was the title match it was alright. The Dudleyz took on E&C in a very good tag match while Y2J and Benoit had what I think is the best ladder match of all time…..but that chairshot on Benoit is now VERY hard to take knowing what happened to him with the concussions and all…
Lets just pretend the Chyna match never happened year? Oh and one more thing- Billy Gunn coming 4th in the rumble!?! WHAT, WHAT, WHAT?
3. No Way Out 2001
So how do you follow up a great Rumble? Well with a great No Way Out and again this was a great card with 3 classic matches. HHH vs. Austin is great, Angle vs. Rock is also and then there was the forgotten 4 way gem over the IC belt with Y2J, Benoit, Gurerrero and X-Pac (swap X-Pac for Angle and that would be my ultimate dream match), it was sublime. The Hardcore title and Tag Team Tables matches were fun and Trish Stratus/Stephanie McMahon had a very good brawl themselves- a hint at what Trish would be capable of in years to come.
My top 2 PPV’s are very close together, but in 2nd place we have…
2. ECW One Night Stand 2005
To quote Joey Styles- OH MY GOD! This PPV was perfect!
-The PPV gets off to a great start when Joey Styles comes out! Followed by Foley. -Y2J/Lance Storm- Good match- Lance came out of retirement for this. Justin Credible and Dawn Marie showed up at the end too. - Super Crazy vs. Tajari vs. Little Guido- Nunzio went back to being Guido while Crazy was brought into the WWE and they had a great three way. A three way match that is. -Mysterio vs. Psychosis- The worst match on the PPV, but still good. Psychosis took off his mask in a show of respect, but people wanted him to put it back on. -The WWE guys turn up to MASSIVE boos! -RVD promo- Phenomenal. Rob gives an emotional speech about the WWE holding him back and saying how this was his idea and how this PPV was bigger than Mania to him, but he couldn’t wrestle due to an injury. This promo led to a main event push for Rob when he was fully healed, which he fucked up. Anyway Rhino (no Y!) attacked RVD and gored him… -But the lights went off and out came Sabu! TNA’s Sabu too! He had a good match with Rhino.
Up next was the Match of the Year featuring Masato Tanaka against Mike Awesome (RIP). Awesome famously walked out of ECW while he was champion to go to WCW where he flopped and Joey Styles commentating during this match was so, so, so very harsh towards him going so far as to say “I hope he breaks his neck!” I like to think that this match redeemed Mike Awesome to the ECW fans before he died as it was phenomenal.
-Then we had Paul Heyman’s great promo. “JBL the only reason you were champion for 10 months was because HHH didn’t want to work Tuesdays! Hide your wives- It’s Edge! Edge I have two words for you- Matt freaking Hardy!” While his promo may have been scripted it sure seemed like a shoot and got the internet fans buzzing. The ramifications of it were huge, Matt Hardy continued to get cheered until he ended up being rehired by the E.
The main event was also a MOTYC with the Dudleyz going against Dreamer and Sandman. Wow Sandman was over HUUUUUUUUUGE! This was pure chaos involving The Blue World Order (“We’re taking over!”), Kid Kash, Balls Mahoney, Francine (!) and burning tables! The most hardcore match ever in the WWE. Then we had the feel good end to the PPV as ECW beat up the WWE guys. Yes Austin leading them into battle was odd seeing as how he only became huge in the WWE but it was Tazz, sorry Taz, that got to be the one who made all the difference and every ECW fan got their wish as Eric Bischoff was destroyed.
I don’t think there was every been a PPV as talked about on the internet as this (well Series 97 excluded), but this was a VERY exciting time to be a WWE fan.
1. Wrestlemania XVII
Shock horror! After a great rumble and a great NWO, and a phenomal Attitude era it all came to a head here. Great matches included HHH vs. Taker, Shane vs. Vince, Eddie vs. Test and Kane/Big Show/Raven (this one always features on peoples best and worst Mania matches lists). Then there was 3 genuine classics- Angle vs. Benoit, TLC 2 and Rock vs. Austin. All of them *****. Incredible PPV. I even loved the Limp Biscuit theme song.
As for the worst 10 PPV’s….how many WWE Great American Bashes have there been?

Oh yeah, 05's was awful. I meant 06.
I thought you were pretty harsh on Maven in your SSeries PPV you didn't like. I thought he was alright and he was doing well in that push. Then he had a pretty decent heel turn and I remember at NYR 05 I was really looking forwards to watching Maven vs Shelton for the IC title. It should have been a great feud and they ended it in just 6 minutes. Then they had a rematch straight after which lasted 5 seconds.
This was after Lita got injured in a highly anticipated match between her and Trish which was cut short as a result and then we had Jerry Lawler vs Muhammed Hassan with no commentary, joy. The EC delivered though.

I fucked up here. I loved the 1998 Survior Series PPV too. That should have made my list, just for the 10 or so Bossman appearences that get funnier and funnier as the night ges on as he continues to screw up- gets DQ'd against Austin, loses to the Rock in 4 seconds, throws the night stick to Shamrock etc. It's awesome.
However another great PPV that should have made my list is TNA's Bound For Glory in 2005. This was TNA at their prime.
The PPV OPENS with Joe who takes on the legendary Jushin Thunder Lyger. There is a 30 minute ironman match classic with AJ and Daniels. A great Ultimate-X match which sadly was hurt by the X falling off. Also an INCREDIBLE Monster's Ball match with Abyss, Rhino, Sabu and Jeff Hardy who does an unbelieveable Swanton Bomb.
I'm watching this PPV now and it's very sad as it shows how excited the fans were to be there "we don't want to see a soap opera, we want to see wrestling" said one of them. Well said.
