In that case, I'm wondering; does the episode style and structure in anyway replicate that of Scrubs?
Mostly comedic, with the occasional touching episode and the super powers of course.

Well Peter and Claire seem to be the main characters, at least at the very beginning on the series anyway, but everyone watching just fell in love with Hiro's character. Which is why he is like the poster-boy of the show now.
I think the reason for that is how he reacts to getting his powers. Claire is worried that her powers will make her unpopular at school  Nathan is worried that his power will ruin his chance to be mayor of New York while other characters like Isaac and Claire just want their powers gone. But Hiro reacts the same way we all would- "I have powers?! Sweeeeeet!!"
While Hiro wants to use his powers to save the world his sidekick Ando wants to use them for cheating at casinos. Hiro: "But that's cheating!" Ando: "Is Peter Parker cheating when he sells photos of Spider-Man for money?". The way they make references to Spider-Man, X-Men, Star Trek and other sci-fi stuff is great too.
The show is mainly serious but with the odd bit of humour thrown, usually all of it by Hiro and Ando and occasionally Partman too.

I want Parkman to die. He's like a big stupid overgrown emo kid.

i hated his "i'm in love with you daphene just because i had a spirit dream, oh and i'm never going to mention my wife or child again" plotline this volume. it looks like a 20 year gap between them, which creeps me out a bit because there was nothing building it up so it's purely based on sexual attraction. I don't mind McKay-Keller in stargate because they spent a lot of time showing how they're right for each other; Heroes pedophile relationship is just gross.

I always like Partman due to Grunberg's role on Alias and the ill-fated pilot from Lost too. Daphne is way out of his league though! I much prefered the early scenes between her and Hiro.
Btw....where the hell is Molly?
Getting back to that Empire list it seems that Spaced is the greatest British TV show ever. Who knew?

Spaced was awesome. Although not too sure about the wire being in the top ten, would gladly swap that and Fawlty Towers around.
Very glad to see Scrubs and Firefly make that list though.

Did you even watch The Wire? It was one of the best, if not THE best cop show of all time, not least in the top 50. So it definitely deserves it's spot.
Fawlty Towers does also deserve to be there, but not at the expense of such a masterpiece as The Wire. And Lost, while obviously being extremely popular, is far from one of the best.
People often confuse quality with popularity. In fact, most people are guilty of this. The poll was supposed to reflect THE GREATEST 50, as the title suggested, not the most popular 50. If the latter were true, then probably some shit like Coronation Street would be in there.
If I were to name the greatest wrestler of all time, I'd say Ric Flair, but ask me my favourite and you probably already know the answer.

I like Lost being in the top 10 but tbh I think the best of this show has yet to come. I believe these final two seasons will blow the first four away. Well maybe not the 5th season but the 6th should be amazing. I'm really looking forward to getting all my answers and finally seeing this ship sail off into the horizon as Lost final comes full circle and ends. Lost is one of my favorite shows of all time but I want it to end so badly not due to the fact that it is decreasing in quality, but the fact that the end of the series will be amazing.
