Okay after speaking about FF VI in the other thread I thought I'd create a topic about it asking you guys what FF games you have played and what you thought about them.
My first FF game was VII and I loved it. It's still my favourite of the lot. I missed out on VIII and played IX next. It was another amazing FF, but VERY similar to VII. The have like the exact same plot and same characters and even the battle system is alike....which aint a bad thing tbh. I loved FF IX and had it been the first one I played I would have liked it even more.
I then skipped X and X-2 and started playing VI on the PSone, before getting bored with it and playing FF V, for like a 2 minutes. I eventually played VII again, but it just looks horrible, worse than VII. Also the junctioning thing just sounds complicated.
I then went and played X at last and got pissed off in the first fight as I used a potion not knowing it was one of those fights you can't actually lose.... So then I ended up playing VI again and am enjoying it. It's my third favourite behind IX an VII.
Oh I also own XII but HATED the fighting.
So what ones have you played and what are your opinions on them?

Ive played VII, VIII, IX, X and X-II. VII is probably my favourite as its the first one I ever played, second is X as I love the part with Seymour where he confronts them on the mountainside having killed all the Ronso. X-II is ok, but Ive never got 100% as I cant face doing the via infinito thing. The junctioning in VIII isnt so bad, but I never really got to grips with the plot and IX is my least favourite as Ive always got bored a short way in

I love VII, Its the only game I believe I have totally finished, I must of spent two-hundred plus hours on the game, when I left it I had all the chocobos (lol lots of late night tips in the chat a few years ago from choco breeding legend Woo) and had all of summons, I had beaten both of the uber weapon both with and without spamming KOTR and I had got everything from the Golden Saucer as well as spending countless hours mastering my characters materia and morphing stat boosting items from the gelnika. Very few games captivate me to play that much but VII did despite the fact I find the main story is rushed, I mean the fall of shinra and the northern crater can be done in about 2/3 hours, it has a rushed feel about the ending
As did VI as well, although I don't think it is as good as 7 I think it has a better story line and Kefka> Sephiroth, I wont mention much as others are playing through it but I just found it is la et down due to some of the uber relics you can get, any game that lets you solo the last boss with one character and win in one turn kinda lets it down for me although it has two bastards of optional bosses,
I havent played any above seven although I will get 13 on the 360, I have both of the Tactics games on the gba and the ds which to be honest I dont really like. too much backtracking and meanial battles especially the ds,, Im usual quite good with stories but I dont know what the fuck is going on,
I have 1 and 2 on the gba dawn of souls which are quite good fun if old school, one is quite hard actually as the warriors of light must stop the four fiends and chaos, two is actually my favourite in a few categories as you arent given a class, you can do anything, your speed goes up from dodging attacks and weapons goes up from attacking and speels from casting spells and they get more powerful, its a great system which they never used again for some reason and it has an awesome final fantasy four esque idiotic ending, you start off fighting an emperor who you beat, fair enough but OH NO HE HAS RESURECTED FROM HELL!!! Oh okay... great game though
I have 3 (The japaneese 3) they released on the ds which is quite good stopping the cloud of darkness but damm me its really hard, the bosses are ridiculously hard and you can only save on the world map and there are no save points in dungeons, so if for me you go through the last dungeon and fight the cloud of darkness and lose, bang four hours gone,
Four for me is good but is let down by the most ridiculous storyline ever, I understand that it is fantasy but come on an airship to the moon and you just wander about? Also you never actually fight the bad guy Goblenz its revealed hes been controlled by some dude called Zeromus who just appears in the last hour? With people like Kefka and Sephiorth you see what they do and actually want to fight them and or start to kinda like them/ and to fight them but some trash dude with no story who lives on the moon and just turns up? Nah thanks
I could never find V on the gba so Im hoping that they release it on the ds as they have been with all the others but it sounds like a good game,
So yeah Ive played all the older ones none of the newer ones
