I was just talking about the Dexter books with Knox and was going to make one asking people their favourite books ever, but realised most of the books I have read are wrestling autobiographies.
So I made this instead.
What autobiographies have you read? Were they good, alright, shit? What's your favourite?
I have read all 3 of Foley's books. The first two are amazing, both equally good imo. The Hardcore Diary's isn't as fun though. It spends half the time going on about US. celebs I've never heard of and the wrestling bits are Mick being frustrated with the WWE which in turn is just frustrating for you too. Still fun however.
I also read The Rock Says. It was quite fun. I'd like a second one now where he talks about his entire career and the films too. Plus a new one wouldn't have the stupid bits where he goes in character...wtf was that about?

Most recently I read A Lions Tale by Y2J himself. It's quite good. Goes real deep into his upbrining in the industry unlike the WWE books where they do like 50 pages on the stuff. Anyway, I really liked the book and it's made me look at a few other wrestlers in different lights. Also made me find out some stuff about others who I haven't even looked at their work before. The only annoying thing about it is that it ends when he steps out on the stage on his WWF debut.

Ah that's so he can then make a 2nd book though!
You mentioned that you now see other wrestlers in a different light now. Who are they and what how did you view them before and after reading it?

People like Art Barr, I've never really dipped into his work but now I have I see what everyone goes on about.
The people who I see in a different light are those "big" guys in WCW, damn what assholes. Goldberg specifically, he refused to do a match with Jericho unless he won. He even went as far to leave the arena and threaten not to come back so he could get his own way.

I have Edge's, The Hardy Boyz's, Stone Cold's and Mick Foley's. I also read Kurt Angle's but it's not great ebcause he hadn't been in the pro-industry for very long at the time of writing, so there aren't really any funny stories.

Hmm, let's see. I have Edge's, The Rock's, Eddie's, Foley's first one, Angle's, and Jericho's.
Jericho's was by far the most fun to read for me. It made me like him even more, though he was already my second favorite wrestler going into it. I can't wait for the second one.

I read a lot of Angle's and Edge's. I never bought them, I just read them in the book shops. I really only like reading about the wrestling parts of their lives, because I want to hear their thoughts of their fellow wrestlers, the backstage politics etc.
Angle's was disapointing in that regard as like Sam said he only had a just over a year expierence and therefore wasn't much wrestling in it. I did like him taling about his NWO match with the Rock in 01. Where Earl Hebner screwed up the end by thinking that Angle was going to kick out of the Rock Bottom when it was meant to be the end.
What I liked about Edge's was that like Foley's he wrote it all himself. I also learnt several stuff such as the one female fan who accused him and Christian of raping her which I had never heard of before. Like Angle I would like a follow up book for him too as he now has so much more to talk about- winning the title, his feud with Cena, Christian leaving to TNA, fucking Lita etc.
