So I was in Game and decided to ask the guy behind the counter how many point I had on my loyalty card and turns out I have £35 on it. The guy was a bit shocked I had that much, but I was like "is that it?! Only £35 after buying two, yes two, PS3's on that card in addition to god knows how many games?!" But whatever, it's almost enough to buy a whole game. The question is- what?! These are the ones I've got in mind:
Little Big Planet
As I mentioned in another thread here this game has been getting amazing reviews and has to be viewed as one of the games of the year judged on them, which says a lot what with the 4th Metal Gear and GTA games coming out in 2008 too. The thing is there really hasn't been another game like it so it will be a jump into the unknown and may disappoint as a result.
Half Life: The Orange Box
Now usually I don't like FPS as I always die. Like a lot. Plus they are usually crappy WW2 games. But Half-Life 2 also got amazing reviews and is more story based than 'Shoot. Bang. Shoot. Level 2.' type affairs is most FPS's. Not only this contain Half Life 2, but two more extra chapters for the game too. But it ALSO contains a multi-player romp called Team Fortress. But then it ALSO contains a FPS game called Portal, which is the bit I am most intrigued about.
Bio Shock
A former exclusive on the green-branded console, but Bio has now made it's way to the PS3. Again this got critical acclaim for it's story and tough dilemmas and looks very, very good indeed.
Pro Evo 2009
It's like the old Pro Evos, but like shiney-er. OMG!!!111!
Mirror's Edge
Not out yet, but if this game lives up to the hype an premise then omg it's going to be in-freaking-credible!
Call of Duty 4
I hated the old CoD games, but yes! This one was NOT set during WW2! It's one of 5 games to get 10/10 thus far in OPS2 and one of the 3 I am yet to own.
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
This massive RPG got 10/10 too. It seems a little daunting however.
Race Driver Grid
The greatest PS racing series (imo anyway) returns once again with another stomper of a game. Not sure if it's two player split/screen or not though.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Supposed to be one of the best PS3 games. I played the demo, run out of ammo, got pissed and stopped playing. May be a bad omen for the game.
Virtua Fighter 5/Soul Caliber 4
Great fighting games....but at heart I am a Tekken-ite and it may take far too long for me to learn the basics of these games.
So what do you suggest out of that list, or is there a big glaring ommision I have left out?
