So Max Payne is being made into a movie. It's not one of those maybe things either, it turns out that the film is already in the shooting stage with Marky Mark Whalberg playing Payne. Mila Kunis has been cast as Mona Sax. I'm personally a big fan of the Max Payne games, with Rockstar all but confirming a third for release in 2009. Although if the EA buyout goes ahead, that may not happen. The only thing that is putting me off this film is that they are aiming for a PG-13 rating and I don't think Max Payne's tone can be caught under that rating. Anyone who has played the games will know that it'a quite dark. Also the guy who directed the remake of the Omen is at the helm of this, which sucks. Here's the IMDB page: www.imdb.com/title/tt0467197/Not much info on there though.

I own the first and only good Max Payne game. It was a bit of a one trick pony tbh, cashing in on the 'Bullet Time' Matrix fad.
I'm much, much more intrested in the Metal Gear Solid film.

lol, it's all well and good thinking of it like that, but what's worth remembering is that Max Payne had been in production since 1996. Long before Matrix brought "Bullet time" to the world. As for Metal Gear Solid, last I heard Uwe Boll has signed on for the film

We'd you hear that? I read an interview with Kojima where he said "One thing's for sure- he will not be directing it" talking about Eww Bole.
Max Payne was being made in 96? They still probably tacked the bullet time on at the end after seeing Matrix film.

I read it on a site I visited. I always thought he wasn't going to be allowed near it, guess they have changed their mind now.
No, bullet time was always an idea in Max Payne. It was one of the first games Remedy put into production when they founded in '96.
