Okay we all know both Shawn and Bret were two of the best wrestlers in the 90's and were better enemies, but who do you think overall is the better wrestler?
For me Brey Hart wins. I pefered his character, promos and his matches while not as fast pased as HBK's were more relaistic and told a good story. Also backstage Shawn was an arsehole and some would say still is.
So I go for Bret Hart how about you?

Lol, making use of the new poll system Woo?
For me it's Bret. Pretty much for all the reasons you said Woo. I liked Hart in the ring, I prefer Hart's matches to HBK. I think he had a lot more to offer than HBK did when they were both wrestling at the same time. I've always Michaels boring in the ring, people slate Cena but then HBK uses the 5 same moves over and over. Infact, you can tell when Michaels is having to do the job, because he will stupidly over sell stuff. I guess that comes down to his backstage antics.

While I admire you for not giving away your votes it doesn't make the most intresting of topics...
Knox I don't understand how you can find HBK boring. You didn't like his classics with Taker, Foley, Razor, Diesel, Bret, Angle and Jericho among others? While I like Bret more HBK is a great wrestler. You you like boring Randy Orton over HBK?!

I like those matches, but I have never enjoyed HBK in the ring. Infact HBK vs. Jericho at WM19 is one of my favourite matches, I just don't rate him.

Don't get me wrong, Shawn Michaels is a stellar in-ring performer, and is a world leader on the stick also, it's just that what Bret lacked in charisma, he made up for in spades with his work ethic and match structuring skills. Never one for real high spots, Bret had the abilty to somehow tell a story within a match. At his peak, as part of the Hart Foundation, he and The Anvil were the textbook tag team, and were judged as such with their success. Sure, they may not have a Dudley-esque record of three hundred and ninety six title runs, but that also equates to three hundred and ninety six title losses.
If I were The Anvil, I'd pick no better partner than Bret, and vice versa. They are the Yin to the other's Yang. The perfect whole.
Shawn's strengths lie in his ability to make anyone look like a superstar. And I mean ANYONE. Sid? Sure, he's always a superstar in my eyes, but was never gonna win any Slammys. Shawn put him over incredibly well. Same with Diesel, another shoddy worker back then. While neither encounter would be regarded as classic, against any other man these two lumbering behemoths would have - and did, on many occasions - look just that.
Which is why it's such a shame that Shawn and Bret never really got to fulfil what should have been the greatest rivaly of the modern era. But alas, Shawn showed immaturity, and Bret showed bitterness, and Vince, ever the shit-stirrer, lapped it up and made a career out of the whole thing all for himself. And so the Mister McMahon character was born.
Both men - Shawn and Bret - had great strengths and great weaknesses, but as a professional wrestler I have to say Bret Hart will remain one of, if not THE best there was, the best there is, and you know the rest...

That would be me - Shawn was my favorite wrestler growing up, and I loved the Rockers - I almost cried when they split up (hey, it was a long time ago).... I really liked Brett too, but there was just something about Shawn for me. I love watching him wrestle. I'm such a mark when it comes to Shawn Michaels.
