That was a bit lackluster imo. I was hoping for more from Lesnar, bit disappointed to see him go out to knee bar. With his wrestling experience he should of been able to turn out of that.
Hopefully, this will be just a little blip in his MMA career. Or knowing Lesnar, he'll just give it up.

Yeah, what a debut. Even though Brock lost, it was an adrenaline fuelled couple of minutes. It kinda happened the way I imagined. Brock came out all guns blazing, and did exactly what he promised, by taking Mir down and pounding him. I think Mazzagatti was out of order deducting the point though. A warning should have sufficed, especially given Brock's inexperience. By all means call a timeout and deduct the point if he does it again.
But that's by the way. In the end, Brock showed his inexperience by not standing off and making Frank stand up. And Frank showed his vast experience by hooking Brock's leg and applying the ankle lock.
I don't think Brock choked on the big stage, but he showed that his submission defence needs a lot of work. His takedows and ground & pound though, are pretty damn awesome. A lesser man than Frank Mir would have been completely dominated with that, but Mir saw the opening, saw Brock's weakness and showed why you can never underestimate him, STEALA!
It's obvious Brock will be back. Like he said, you win some you lose some. He'd like to win em all, but you can't. He'll be back, just as GSP was. Defeats are often things which make a better fighter. I hope it's true in Brock's case.
Great to see Kurt, Stone Cold and even The Undertaker at ringside. Like you said, it was rather surreal. I'm even sure I caught a glimpse of Jay Lethal, but that could have been Herb Dean sticking his face in.

Mir looked like a deer in the headlights for the entire match and pulled that leg lock out of desperation. His experience paid off I guess, but, no disrespect to him, I still don't see him as a legitimate championship contender right now.
