Man this strike sucks so much; just when heroes and prison break get really good, and the office is really funny, and the hype for the return of 24 and lost have me waiting like crazy, this happens. Because of this stirke heroes will only have 13 epoisdes, prison break may not finish and the spin off prison break-Cherry Hill may not even air, lost only will have 8 eposides and will probally not air those at all because they promised to show all 16 in 16 weeks, 24 won't even air this year because they promsied a non stop season, and the office has one eposide left this thursday and they are done.... Yeah, this sucks so much....

You posted this in the wrong board Flyers, you numnuts. I had to move it. Anywho, yes it's annoying. Word is Scrubs may not get an ending on TV and we may have to wait for the DVD to be released to see how it ends.

Why would Heroes only have 13 episodes? Why can't they just wait for it to end and then show the rest of the seris afterwards? I dont understand your whole 'Season' thing you guys do over there. I have heard some people say 24 won't be shown until 2009 again wtf? Why not just wait for it to end and then play all 24 episodes back to back? It makes no sence to me.

I think it's crazy to be honest. You're not telling me that every major show in America is on such a tight schedule that they are writing merely two or three episodes ahead of the airing dates? How can that possibly produce good TV, with such tight deadlines?
Surely there is plenty of written material in the bag already for production. What about all these shows that are canceled on their first run? There must be decades worth of quality TV just sat gathering dust in the stock rooms.
I fail to see where there is nothing to fill the gap left by four series' alone, in Lost, 24, Prison Break and Heroes.

So are they seriously thinking about having Heroes Season 2- 11 Episodes. Season 3- 11 Episodes. Season 4- 23 episodes???
Also I saw in your post that there may be a Prison Break spin off called 'Cherry Hill' and after looking it up I think the idea is totally stupid. "A Prison Break attempt, haven't we been there before? Oh, it's set in a Women's prison okay that is TOTALLY different..."
Btw was PB always going to have one of those dumb 'Fall Finales' anyway?

um, about posting in the wrong thread; it was late and i wasn't in the right state of mind We have seasons and deadlines because we don't like showing big shows during the summer, so that is why they might hold off shows. They don't want big shows to go into the summer because not many people watch prime time during the summer here is a headline of this strike www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/11/05/hollywood.labor.ap.ap/index.html

This strike sucks, I mean why put out a show that you haven't fully produced and shot yet? That's the way it's usually done in the UK, they'll show the series once it's completed filming. Although that's usually because they stick the complete series out on DVD half way through it's run on TV.

Well obviously during a shows first season they won't film a whole series in case nobody likes it and it gets pulled from the air after the 5th episode. But for a show like Prison Break, Heroes or Lost were they are phenomenally popular then you would of thought they could shoot it first and then air it. I guess though as it currently is it reduces the risk of spoilers being released and it also gives the makers the opportunity to react to complaints from viewers.
Plus in the UK shows only run for an average of 6 episodes instead of 22.
I didn't realize that nobody watches TV in America during the summer.

Yeah they are all out in the sun excercising those well-honed bodies of theirs. I hear obesity is almost non-existent in America, and they are world leaders in healthy living.

The sun isn't out during prime time.
How many reality TV shows do you think will get created because of this strike?
