It was a mixed bag:
The Good
- Michael meets Gretchen and the exchange
This was tense stuff and it also revealed that Whistler was a bad guy after all and that the so-called coordinates were non existent. I actually thought that Michael would shoot Gretchen when he held the gun at her, but I am thinking he wants her to suffer a worse fate.
-T-Bag
I was really confused by the plan of Bagwell, Luchero and Bellick, then really disappointed when he killed Luhereo, but when he met the nun I was like "omg, the scenes with her make sense at last!" and the bit at the end were he was talking to the inmates was terrific. Also he seems to have genuine feelings for the nun, which could make a good story.
-Sucre doesn't rat out Michael.
I was really nervous that Fernando was get shot and wanted him to give Michael up in order to save his life. The fact he didn't made him even more sympathetic.
The Bad:
-Mahone in cahoots with Whistler.
Wtf?! This was dumb imo. The end of Season 2 turned Mahone from a villain into a character we could like and season three continued that theme, then this happens out of nowhere it was just silly. I am sure also it makes no sense (didn't James frame Alex for the murder of the guy who knew Whistler) and how long have these two been working together? It was just a very forced twist.
-Whistler's suit case.
We saw this three episodes ago and we still don't know what was in it, apart from file, the contents of which remain a mystery. Very anti-climatic.
-Still in Sona!
I wanted the story to leave Sona, but it looks like we are going to have yet more episodes set in that prison, now with Sucre trying to escape, joy. Also Bellick- does he really deserve his punishment in there? I would love to see Bellick/Sucre grab whistler's book from T-Bag and use it to escape from Sona, leaving Bagwell trapped there forever. As much as I like him, he ultimately deserves to be locked up for good.
-Luchero's death
Damn, that sucked. He was the character introduced this year that I liked the most and to see him go was a shame, Bellick was a twat just standing there.
Bit of both
-MacGrady
I have been a fan of his character all year, but it seems he may have been in his last episode which sucks. because we never got to know him at all. He really needed an episode where he explained to Michael why he was there so we can feel pity for him, but we didn't so his escape felt very underwhelming.
-The damn Bird book!
Okay it's not in the bad section because it keeps T-Bag, Sucre and Bellick relevant, but after a whole season why still have no bloody idea what was in it and why it's so important.
-Michael's revenge!
I loved the shot of the gun and the origami rose together, but have no idea how a revenge driven plot will work in PB, or if it can work. I guess we will have to wait and see...
Btw I didn't review the last episode, but it contained one of my favorite scenes in PB history with the guards about to shock Bagwell's genitals. I think it would have been a fitting end to a sexual animal (that was not meant as a compliment...) such as him.
Overall it was a good episode imo to an average season. Better than the last seasons of Heroes and 24 though.
