Hogan's American Gladiators

Looks like Hulk Hogan's landed on his feet again.

Apparently he will host a new version of American Gladiators.
I used to love that show back in the early nineties. We in the UK had our own version simply called GLADIATORS, but it was shit.
The American original was way more exciting.

Could be an excellent move getting Hogan, as his wrestling days are surely now over. His personality and star quality could make this an impressive resurrection.

Note to producers - PLEASE get Nathan Jones as one of the Gladiators. How great would it be to see him kicking the crap out of normal sized men?

I would only watch it if they brought back Nitro. That man is the biggest draw in the history of ridiculously cheesy televised physical competitions.

Yeah Nitro was cool. He was the Hawaiian looking one if I'm not mistaken.
Lace was the best by far though. I remember that Playboy spread like it was only yesterday...

They should get Tank Abbott on there. They wouldn't even have to change his name.

Haha, Tank wouldn't really fit in on American Gladiators though. At least not the old school version. I don't know how the modern version is, but I'm pretty sure that a mullet was mandatory for the Gladiators during the original run. They all looked like Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon.

I think you're thinking of the right guy for Nitro, but I just read that he's Japanese. I don't really recall what the other Gladiators looked like so maybe I'm wrong.

Damn you Metal, you lie! Our Gladiators ruled! John, "uhwoooga" Fashinu (sp?), Urika Johnson, Lighnight (yum!), Jet, scary drug taking nutter Shadow and of course Wolf. I used to love it as a kid. I saw the US show a few times and all I can remember was that the eliminator round was really cool.

Well this is starting up on Sunday I believe and I will probably watch it. It seems like it's the same as the old one with some modern tweaks added to the games like the rock climbing wall thing will be taller and instead of falling onto pads they will fall into water...

I only saw a couple of them here in the UK, and it looked pretty lame. I really wanted to see some of season 2 though, as Matt Morgan was "The Beast"! I guess he'll concentrate on playing second fiddle to Abyss now.
