Okay there is a thread on the forum asking who your top artists of all time are, but this thread is about who your current favorites are- meaning people still making records.
Here are mine:
-Kaiser Chiefs- I loved their Employment album and at first didn't like their follow up 'Yours Truly Angry Mob' but after listening to it more it has grown on me and while I don't think their are any as good as 'I Predict A Riot' or 'Everyday I Love You Less And Less' there is a lot of good songs on it.
-The Fratellis- Out of all the new British bands that have made it in the last 3 or so years I think this band is the best. Certainly one of the best debut albums in years and 'Chelsea Dagger' I think should be regarded as one of the best songs of the 00's when this decade is over.
-Amy Winehouse- While she is a complete mess I love some of her songs. Rehab was very catchy and Back To Black and I'm No Good are very good but my favorite is Tears Dry On Their Own- fantastic song...well great chorus...
-Lily Allen- Simply chavtastic. I love LDN, Alfie and her cover of the Kaiser's Oh My Good she did with Mark Ronson.
Arctic Monkeys- Another band with a great first album followed by a not so good second one. Nothing I have heard from it is as good as the big hits from the 1st (View From The Afternoon, When The Sun Goes Down, I Bet That You Look Good...)
Okay, so who are your current favs?

Jimmy Eat World - Got given their new CD today as a early birthday present from my tutor at college. Don't ask me why she's buying me stuff, I have no idea myself. Anyway, it's a pretty good listen, I'm enjoying it so far.
Alphabeat - My GF has listened to them on TV in the UK and asked if I had heard of them. I hadn't. Have now though, they are amazing! Myspace is a god for new music. Oh, and their lead female singer is hot too.

ALESTORM. They are a Scottish band who play a form of metal I can only describe as pirate metal. They all dress up as pirates, and their songs are all about pirates. Their debut album is called Captain Morgan's Revenge and contains such titles as Nancy The Tavern Wench, Set Sail & Conquer, Terror On The High Seas and the ridiculously catchy Wenches & Meat. It finishes with a riotous cover of the Scottish anthem Flower Of Scotland.
It's an awesome album which sounds a lot like Finnish folk-metal band Turisas for those who may be familiar with the more obscure metal bands of today.
