Well there I was watching the Hollyoaks omnibus as I do every Sunday when afterwards it was a program called T4Unsigned- which is basically like X-Factor or American Idol but for rock bands instead of potential one hit wonder pop fodder.
I can't really tell you if any of the bands are any good as I spent the entire show staring at one of the bands, Mancini's, lead female singer.
She's ridiculously good looking and makes the girls in Hollyoaks look ordinary, so naturally I googled her as soon as the show ended and heard some of the bands songs and actually they are pretty good too. The songs sort of remind me of Garbage, Elastica, Sneaker Pimps and other good female lead bands during the Britpop era in the 90's.
Sadly though the band got kicked off the show this week, but may get put back into it if they get enough votes.
Anyway, here is a link to their MySpace music page and here is a youtube video of their first single, which wisely forgets the rest of the band and just is entirely about lead singer Iraina.
And for those of you who get put off by links, here's a picture of her;
Also worth mentioning is that one of the judges on the show is none other than former Blur member Alex James. It's like someone has made an ideal show just for me.
