I think this thread was made on he old forum, but I thought I would recreate it as I have noticed that my music taste has suddenly turned gayer than Knoxville in FUBAR (J/K!!!!- Nothing is quite that gay!!! J/K!!...) Anyway here are 4 artists, in no particular order, that I like despite by better judgement. Girls Aloud Well most guys like Girls Aloud for the obvious reasons as do I, but I actually like their songs too. Love Machine is s great tune!! Avril Lavigne Damn you Avril! Why are you stupid pretend punk songs so damn catchy! Sk8ter boy has to be one of the dumbest songs ever yet it's so damn hard not to sing along to it...and as for 'Girlfriend' well that's worse... 5ive I thought that former Backstreet wannabe band 5ive (by the way why do people think having titles like Se7en or Wip3out is clever? It's just looks stupid) would be forgotten completely, but recently in nightclubs over here they are playing a medley of all the old 5ive songs and it's really surprising how many songs they had. Shame their proposed comeback didn't materialize... Spice Girls I actually had both of their albums at one point and think I might have one of them still....but to be honest most of their songs are now simply unbearable (I can''t hear Wannabe, Mama or Spice Up Your Life without wanting to shoot myself) but I then heard 'Stop' followed by Too Much and 2 Become 1 for the first time in years and think that they are good little pop records. And they are making a comeback!!!!!! So what artists are you a secret closet fan of?

Where to start, either way it'll end up in more gay jokes and I'm engaged to a woman btw guys...
Anywho, like Woo I really like Girls Aloud. I don't know why but something appeals to me about them.
The other band I like but never, I said never admit to is Mcfly. Man I've even lied to my mates before to go see them in concert. It's awful. I think I like them because they are generally easy listening, either that or I need to take a long look at myself. I think you need to aswell Woo.
Btw Woo, one of the guys from Five works in a Wall of Fame shop in Eastbourne now. What a drop huh? Top 10 selling band to a £5.50 an hour job.

What's Wall of Fame?
Yeah McFly are one of those bands that have some catchy tunes like 'Obviously', but I was viewed them as a clone of Busted. I very nearly put Busted on my list as they had several guitly pleasure song like 'Sleeping With the Light On' and 'You Said No'. I hear Charlie from Busted new band is quite good.

Wall of Fame is a shop where they sell signed stuff, from movies, sports events and that kinda crap.
Charlies new band isn't all that actually, I like their first record but now it seems like the normal I'm angry but I'll write love songs too kind of rock band.

Great thread. I can't really think of a band I like as a whole that I feel guilty about, but I've cranked up some Justin Timberlake now and again when no one else is around. I don't own any CDs, I just use the www.
Oh, and I bought a Ricky Martin CD once. But that was when I was a young boy just wanting to shake my bon bon.

Oh, and I bought a Ricky Martin CD once. But that was when I was a young boy just wanting to shake my bon bon. lol! I m actually a big fan of Livin La Vida Loca. It reminds me of a good holiday I had in Spain years ago. Oh I quite like Abba too.. and Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas is you" ... one of the few Christmas songs I like.

Oh yeah. That Christmas thing reminds me. I also like New Kids On the Block.
If you don't like "Hangin' Tough", you're crazy.

If you don't like "Hangin' Tough", you're crazy. Then I must be criminally insane... I quite like Neil Diamond. And Johnny Cash, but I guess that's fashionable now.

So you're telling me that MetalBlade has never attempted to do the New Kids Dance?
I am shocked.

God, New Kids on the Block... i havent heard any of their songs in years, I used to love them...
Anyway, music that I shouldnt like but do -
Aaron Carter - especially the CD he put out when he was like 12, all those catchy pop songs, I just love him. Really. I even watched that awful House of Carters reality show. It's sad I know.
Jessica Simpson - she's an idiot, I dont like her, I dont want to like her music, but her songs just stick in my head, and I can't help but sing them.
Hannah Montana - not sure if she even counts. That show is my guilty pleasure these days (hey, I dont get to enjoy most of my other guilty pleasures these days, I need something). And I;ve gotten some of her songs online. I'm not going to run out to buy the cd's, but I like listening to her every now and then.
As for the Spice Girls, I used to love them, I'd go to the reunion tour if they were coming anywhere near here, but they're not. I also will admit to at one time owning a Hanson CD, and the first three Backstreet Boys CD. Oh, And Woo, I've been singing "when the lights go out" by 5ive since I read your post... it'll take days for that to get out of my head. thanks

Wow, I didn't know 5ive were even famous outside of the UK. Ah Aaron Carter, now that brings back memories. I actually love Hanson's Mmmbop still though. New Kids On The Block were pretty good. My favorite I think was called "The Right Stuff". Other songs that were pretty carp but I loved were Eifel 65's 'Blue' as well as Lou Bega's "Mambo No.5".

....And now I'll be singing Blue for days, that's one of those songs that gets stuck in the head.... its worse than "i think we're alone now" by Tiffany.
I think everyone loved the song Mambo No.5... And lets not forget The Macarena, that song was awful, but everyone loved that dance... dont even try to deny it people.
As for 5ive, they had a lot of success over this way with their firsy cd, and did so-so with the others. i had the first one years ago.

Rihanna. Great voice and suprisingly good lyrics for the most part. Really catchy as well.
The first step is admitting it. ;D

Well when I'm not blasting rap music out of my car window or listening to that additive alternative rock music, I'll listen to Vanessa Carlton once in awhile….
