OK people, time to find out what makes you tick in the world of music. I hate asking people what music they like, only to hear the standard reply of "Well, anything really, as long as it's good" That to me indicates zero imagination and they like anything that's force-fed them on the radio.
Apart from my wife, music is my biggest passion. My life basically revolves around it. It does not matter what type of music you are passionate about, as long as you hold it dear to you.
A person's musical tastes can say a lot about that person. Music has the power to bring people together, the power to divide people, but more importantly to inspire people.
So I am inspired to find out what kind of people we have in our PowerSlam family. So list your Top 10 bands/musical artists here in order of importance to you.
I love metal in all it's many guises. Basically no other music matters to me. Here's mine:
10. VENOM 9. BLACK SABBATH 8. AC/DC (pre 1980) 7. DEATH ANGEL 6. IRON MAIDEN 5. VOIVOD 4. TOOL 3. KING DIAMOND 2. SLAYER 1. JUDAS PRIEST

Tough thing to do.
10. Weezer 9. Velvet Revolver 8. Queens of the Stone Age 7. Motley Crue 6. Audioslave 5. Incubus 4. Jane's Addiction 3. Foo Fighters 2. Red Hot Chili Peppers 1. Chevelle
I have no specific taste, but it's obvious I'm a rock fan. The labels have become meaningless today, but I guess most of it is lumped as alternative (?).
There are so many bands I could have fit into the 6-10 slots, but I guess this list is as good as any.

10. Michael Jackson 9. Elastica 8. Fatboy Slim 7. Suede 6. Pulp 5. The Who 4. Cast 3. Nirvana 2. Oasis 1. Blur
As you can see, my top 10 is dominated by Britpop bands, with random ones like MJ and The Who thrown in.

Michael Jackson isn't a band... Pah, I interpreted it as Artists. I couldn't think of a 10th band either.

Wow, Neil Diamond. What a classy dame you are. Even a rock-solid metalhead like me appreciates a bit o' Diamond.
"Just pour me a drink and I'll tell you some lies..."
Sweet.

Late but:
10: Stone Sour 9: Seether 8: Evanescence 7: Foo Fighters 6: Mad Season 5: Staind 4: Alter Bridge 3: The Levellers 2: Nirvana 1: Alice In Chains - So much so, that I have the sun artwork from the Dirt album tattooed on my leg. I effin' love this band.
Positions three and four were due to me having seen the bands.
5 - 10 are pretty interchangeable with each other and any other band I like at any given time; Disturbed, Biffy Clyro, KoRn, Slipknot etc.

God, I almost forgot this forum even existed... Some mod I am.
Yeah some pretty rocking stuff in there Layne. I kinda went off the whole grunge thing some time ago, but I'm impressed to see Mad Season in there, even though they only did the one album. I reckon it was better than every AIC album since Facelift.
Nirvana were a big part of my life for a while - during my drug-crazed days of the early to mid nineties. Levellers were too, around the same period.
Stone Sour I like maybe a little more than Slipknot, and Staind i went mad for their song OUTSIDE. Specially the acoustic version with Fred Durst joining Lewis.
Foo Fighters I can take or leave. Although I am a huge admirer of Dave Grohl, especially the PROBOT project.
Don't really know too much about Seether or Alter Bridge, except didn't they do a wrestler's theme tune once? And I gotta say Evanescence don't really do it for me. The fact they are bible bashers sort of puts me off.

Mad Season may have only done one album but as I see you agree: it was awesome.
I'm mainly a fan of the stuff from the Foos first album, songs like: I'll stick around, Big me, Wattershed, Exhausted etc. I like the singles off of "The Color and the shape" (Monkey Wrench, Everlong, Walking After You, My Hero) but not any of the others so much. Thier latest single The Pretender is quite good too.
I've liked Staind for ages, I'm not into them as much anymore though.
Seether are basically a carbon copy of Nirvana, but I still like them. They did that "Broken" song with Amy Lee from Evanescence.
Alter Bridge do Edge's theme and they did "In loving memory" for the Guererro tribute, oh and also the theme fro Royal Rumble 2005.
I thought I'd get a bit of flack for listing Evanescence, but I just really like listening to them.

I like Evanescence too Sam, so no bashing from me. I have an album of theres in my car cd changer and I really like it, especially "Haunted" (although Im doubting myself now that that is its title..)

It is Haunted, aside from the singles which I feel were overplayed the rest of the album is tremendous in my opinion.
My yahho radio thing has played all of the stuff from "The Open Door" album at some point or other and from that I'd recommend, "Good Enough" and "Snow White Queen".
Also, I'm not sure if it was on either album but if you can find "Lies" (dailymotion.com) then you've found the music that was almost my e-fed character's theme.
