Yeeees, this may well be about Darts, but it is a guilty pleasure of mine come winter,
Be interested to hear who thinks whom will leave the BDO for the PDC?

I hope nobody leaves as I don;t get Sky Sports and therefore only watch darts on the Beeb. I watched the BDO final last night and it was great. Not as good as last years classic, that was sport moment of the year for me in 07, but still brilliant.
So I hope nobody major leaves and especially none of the finalists as they could both have great matches with each other for years to come.
Are there rumours of anybody leaving?

You know Whitlock, he was actually in the PDC about 5 years ago. Did nothing... He is one of the few reversals. Anderson WDF/BDO No.1 will go, he's been offered a tank full of cash. I suspect the Welsh Guy and one or two others will leave, they always do. Did you catch the Grand Slam of darts on ITV last November it was on ITV? Amusingly the BBC had the World Matchplkay on BBC2 at the same time.... Crazy! Oh, and speaking of people leaving the BDO take a look at this clip (ties into our other subject on the other forum nicely. This was last year, He left for the PDC the next day, so all this he says makes his integrity stand up. Alright lads, as a passing fan, would you kindly explain to me why there are two different factions of darts? I know of Taylor but know nothing of the BDO and got a clip round the ear from my Grandad for asking why Taylor or Van Barnveld were not in the BDO final?

Ahaha... Errr there is a comprehensive history behind this, I'll attempt to sum up.
In the early 90's Darts was losing the massive popularity it had in the 80s. Snooker was the working mans sport peoplke were now watching, what with glitzy TV tournaments, big sponsership and prize money. In 1992 the PDC was formed by the top 16 players in the game, they broke away from the establishment BDO and in 1993 they began their first season of tournaments includind their own World Championship.
The PDC is by far the Premier League of Darts and the BDO is seen as more of a feeder system, still, as a drats fan, I'll watch what I can get.
Players have then had to choose what organisation

Just watched the King video Leo. What was all that about? I remember a few years ago a player thought that the oche was too far away and had it measured. This promopted a few fans to make fun of him a bit and some to boo him, but I can't remember who that was. Was that King? I remember the player getting pissed off, so it would make sence if it was him.
Still, what a prat he is. I know the PDC has the better players, but to lie like that "I would rather hang-up my darts than go to the PDC" and then to go back on his word is very disloyal. Maybe whenever he throws people should chant "you screwed the BDO"
Yeah I saw bits of it. I caught the final, which Phil won I think. How well did the PDO fare against the PDC in it?

Hi,
Well, Gary Anderson got to the Semis (beaten by Taylor) but he was the only BDO player from about the last 16...
Yeah that was King, one of those 'characters' your supposed to hate, but just can't.
I have a very interesting documentary, only about 30 minutes long on the break up of Darts and the formation of two World bodies thus two World Champions, IF you can tell me in complete leyman terms (no, my computer skills are still bloody awful) then I will post it for you as its on my desktop. Very interesting actually.
