I am a huge Y2J fan. When I first started watching wrestling, which I did really late, he was my favorite until I became one of Matt Hardy's MF'ers, but there is something I dunno a bit dull about him since he returned. They should have moved him to SD imo where his feud with JBL would have made more sence. Not sure what he would be 'saving us' from though but he sure as hell isn't saving us from Orton now anyway. Y2J would fare much better on the blue brand and away from HHH. He could feud with Edge for a while which could produce great matches and along with Rey could have given him something to do until the Taker vs Edge Mania match. Also why not put him in the Rumble? He would have been a very beliveable winner (more on that in a bit). As for his hair, I like it. Long hair is soooo 90's. I think guys like Nash, Christian and now Y2J look much better since they cut their hair. I wish Edge would cut his. It always looks filthy. The thing is I can't see him playing a heel without long hair anf funny beard though. ----- Now for the rumble. There are now 4 singles matches on the card; Orton-Jeff Edge-Rey JBL-Y2J MVP vs Flair Why the hell is MVP vs Flair on the PPV? That match came from nowhere! I also hope they are both in the Rumble as they, well mainly Flair, could have been actual contenders to win it. We now have 15 people confirmed for the actual match now. Still no Boogeyman 1. Undertaker 2. Batista 3. Umaga 4. Finlay 5. Kane 6. Mick Foley 7. Hornswoggle 8. James Morrison 9. Santino Marella 10. Carlito 11. The Miz 12. Hardcore Holly 13. Cody Rhodes 14. Snitsky 15. Jamie Noble Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore and Shelton have apprently won matches to qualify but haven't been confirmed as entrants yet... I think HBK and KK will obviously be entrants too and you will also have the token big guys- Khali, Mabel and Mark Henry. Also no matches confirmed yet with HHH or CM Punk. Atm I think Undertaker will win...well I think he will be in the SD title match anyway. It doesn't really matter who wins anyway as whoever did the best in the Rumble from either brand gets a title shot with the Raw match headling (06- Rey and Orton come 1st and 2nd, yet HHH who cam 3rd in the Rumble headlines Mania. 07- Taker wins and HBK comes 2nd, but HBK headlines and Taker's match is mid-card.) Well yeah anyway I think Taker will be the last SD guy in the ring and I think they will suprise us by having KK has the best Raw guy.

No matter what happens, WWE will always have the Raw match main event Wrestlemania. I don't know why but they seem to do it.
Shelton had a qualifying match at at house show this week and won, yet they have put him another on tuesday for ECW. Strange. And it appears as if WWE aren't even adknowledging Jimmy and Shannon.
So far the Rumble match is looking to be quite a good one, although as I expressed to you on MSN Woo, I'd rather have Jimmy and Shannon in there than Taker and Batista. I think a space will be left open possibly for Big Show and I'm expecting another William Regal vs. HHH match at RR where if HHH wins he's in the rumble.
I have no idea if CM punk will wrestle here, he had better or I'll be pissed.
MVP vs. Flair is ont he card because MVP has said he'll retire Flair and made the challenge. So I'm to guess no MVP inthe Rumble, damn WWE.

Okay the list of entrants has gone up to 19 now. 1. Undertaker 2. Batista 3. Umaga 4. Finlay 5. Kane 6. Mick Foley 7. Hornswoggle 8. James Morrison 9. Santino Marella 10. Carlito 11. The Miz 12. Hardcore Holly 13. Cody Rhodes 14. Snitsky 15. Jamie Noble 16. HBK 17. Shelton 18. Khali 19. Henry --------
Well Kennedy and Vis are dead certs to be in it also, still hope for Boogeyman... It looks like Chavo/Punk will be added to the card too and HHH vs Regal is still a possibilty though I think both of them will be in the rumble somehow. This card looks very good on paper but the matches will be very short I reckon.
Why do you think Foley is in the match? He must be there for a reason. I am hoping he eliminates Umaga, who runs back in the ring and takes him out which will hopefully lead to a Mania' match.

If he will be in, I doubt they'd announce it.
I think he could return on Raw to face Triple H tonight.

If he returns tonight, that would be a missed opportunity in my opinion. One of the great things I used to like about wrestling was the surprises at PPVs. They don't seem to happen much anymore. Instead, big name returnees are advertised beforehand. A sign of the times I guess, with the dollar being the most important factor, above even the satisfaction of the fanbase.
I always had a lot of time for Paul. He seemed quite genuine as far as superstars went. He always struck me as one who would help the up-and-comers in the business, and would be a great guy to have your back. I hope he does come back, and I hope he's in better shape than when he left. I was genuinely quite worried he would be next on the obituary list.

Last I read, he's lost 70 pounds. Which is quite alot, although still not enough for a guy of his size. I liked him too. I preferred him with Heyman as his mouthpeice though, it added something to his character.
Problem is that if he was to return at the rumble it'd be a waste, he'd have no chance of winning it as it seems dead certain that either Batista or Undertaker will do so.

Yeah, but someone like Big Show would return for the sole purpose of eliminating at least one of the favourites, thus setting up the traditional post-Rumble feud.
That's why I fail to see the point in people like The Miz, Hornswoggle, Hardcore Holly and Snitsky being in the Rumble in the first place. They are just cannon fodder, and anyone who believes guys like these have even the slimmest chance of winning are simply deluding themselves.
Out of the twenty so far announced, I reckon only Taker, Batista and Shawn have a chance of winning, with maybe Umaga having a very slim chance. So 80% of them might as well sit in the back while the other four have a fatal fourway or something.
Maybe I just miss the whole point of it these days.

I think in addition to Taker, Batista and HBK that Ken Kennedy and CM Punk may have a chance of winning. It's been a long time since a heel one (99). I still think though that HHH is the odds-on-favorite at this point. I also don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Horswoggle will triumph.
Also Shelton is being pushed into the ECW world title picture, but why anyone would win the rumble and then choose to try and win that at mania is beyond me.
Come on, the Miz isn't that bad. He was fighting for a world title at SSeries and is part of the best tag team in the WWE so it's not as if he's the jobber he was last year. Hardcore & Snitsky are expendable though. I wish they put JBL, Y2J, MVP and Flair in the rumble in addition to their matches.

Well I won't spoil it for those who didn't see Raw last night, but the HD stuff made no difference to me at all. I just noticed some make up on Triple H and some ghost image following in the background behind the WWE logo.
As for the rumble, it's interesting. They were advertising the match as being in the middle of the card, like they did in 2006 which completley blew. They need to hold it at the end of the PPV imo. I've looked at last years ad and they were advertising all the other match up first then the RR match. Just an observation I made.

Damn, hopefully it won't be in the middle of the card though it has happened a few times. 88, 96, 97, 06.
Okay Kennedy, HHH, Palumbo, Dreamer and Vis are now confimed too so there are 6 spots remianing. I'm predicting Punk, Big Show, Regal, Colin Delany, Kofi Kingston and Boogeyman.....

Colin Delany, Kofi Kingston.... Who are these people of whom you speak? I've not watched WWE for a couple of months now, so give me a short history lesson please, Woo. Not just of these two, but the whole run-up to the Royal Rumble. BTW, I just found out Chavo is the ECW champion. WTF gives?

Not just of these two, but the whole run-up to the Royal Rumble. BTW, I just found out Chavo is the ECW champion. WTF gives? Colin Delany is a kid who keeps getting squashed on ECW, kinda like a massive underdog role. Kofi Kingston debuted this week. Yeah Chavo is ECW Family, on Smackdown even though Teddy Long is back Vickie is still in charge and has led to Edge, Vickie and Chavo forming a "family." As if it couldn't get any worse... Anyway, on ECW Edge speared CM Punk after he gave the G2S to Chavo. Chavo got the pin and the rest is history. Atm it looks like a rematch at RR is unlikely so I'm hoping they put Punk in the Rumble match, he wins and goes after Edge. Or something along those lines.

Well I'll go over some of the stories here Metal.
HHH- He lost a qualifying match against Regal on Raw and got all angry. Vince McMahon then for some silly reason gave HHH another chance to get into the Rumble despite the fact they are feuding. Anyway HHH had to face 3 people in an over-the-top battle royale against Snitsky, Mark Henry (quite what he was doing on Raw is still a mystery) and a 3rd person chosen by Regal. Regal then waved off the 3rd person in the back (Maybe Big Show) and tried to beat HHH himself and failed. All-in-all the whole thing is very like Stone Cold in 01...
-Hornswoggle/Foley- Vince McMahon gave his son Hornswoggle a tag match with the winners going to the rumble and told him to find his opponent. Horny tried asking Santino and Super Crazy who both said no (Great move Super Crazy! You are not even in the match now!), well Crazy said no anyway. Santino said "little people kinda, how do you say it, creep me out?". Eventually Horny came to the ring with an unnamed jobber to take on the Highlanders (making Super Crazy even dumber for not being able to beat these two). Anyway Foley then came out, goodness knows why he was at Raw, and helped Horny win the match. Foley hasn't been seen since.
Finlay- Finlay seems to have some kind of deal with McMahon about Hornswoggle. I think he doesn't want him getting heard or something. Expect to hear more from the deal in a few weeks.
Also there are a few feuds going into this match such as HBK vs Kennedy so expect them to clash in the rumble. Also Batty and Undertaker has been having problems with Big Daddy V (Viscera, though they are pretending he is a different person), Henry and Kahli. Oh and Jamie Noble has been feuding with Chuck Palumbo and while Noble is turning face Chuck is turning heel. They might fight in the rumble too, but since they are both jobbers, possibly not.
There are also a few tag teams in the match that will probably work together. Morrison (Nitro) & Miz (Smackdown/ECW Champions), Holly & Rhodes (Raw Champions), Henry & Vis and Carlito & Santino.
Also of note is that Shelton is undefeated since moving too ECW and beat Miz, Morrison & Kane in a battle royal on the last show. It's also rumoured that they are trying to push him into the ECW title picture, so expect a good showing. CM Punk is feuding with Edge, they will probably meet at No Way Out so I think Punk will do well. Tommy Dreamer meanwhile got into the rumble by moaning in his wwe.com column that he isn't being used enough (in kayfabe) and got added.
Yeah Colin Delany is being made into a Mikey Whipwreck type character and has been destroyed five weeks running by Vis, Henry, Shelton, Kane and Kahli. I think if he is in the rumble he might do a Maven. Kofi Kingston is new face wrestler from Jamaica, but neither of these two are confirmed in the match.
There you go, that's all you need to know about the rumble match!
