Okay it's that time of year we all love again, so here are the odds for the outright winner of this years 40 man (yes, 40 man!) Royal Rumble!
1. CM Punk- 3/1
The leader of the New Nexus is my tip as the favourite to win it all. He was the highlight of last years event, but will be be the winner? Or will NXT implode?
2. John Cena- 4/1
John Cena is 2nd favourite. Why? Well because he's John frickin' Cena... Winner of 2008, runner-up in 2005 and 2010, will the face of the company become on the 4th man to win it twice?
3. Alberto Del Rio- 5/1
In at No. 3 we have the fast rising Mexican sensation who will enter his first Royal Rumble this year. Alberto's WWE run started with a bang when he defeated Rey Mysterio in his debut and he hasn't looked back. He failed at TLC to in his first world title, but i he wins this he'll get a 2nd chance at a world title...
4. John Morrison- 5/1
At joint 3rd place is the Monday Night Delight. He always draws HBK comparisons it seems at Rumble's, but has never won one yet. After a good 2010 it looks like the WWE are finally deciding to get behind him, but enough so for him to win?
5. Sheamus-6/1
The former world champion has already won the KOTR this year, will he be able to add this to his resume at the first time of asking? A rumored HHH return may make that negative...
6. Rey Mysterio- 10/1
Rey Rey has already won this event before in 2006, but has mainly been in title matches since or had a low number and hasn't done very well. He's had a good year however and is sure to meet Alberto Del Rio at some point...
7. Wade Barrett- 10/1
Barrett has come from nowhere to a main eventer in no time at all and will be one of the favourites in this Rumble. He has three members of his new stable for back-up, but even that may not be enough to stop an angry giant...
8. Cody Rhodes- 12/1
Many expected Cody Rhodes to flounder after the Legacy broke up. Instead the Dashing one has gone from strength to strength. He helped Orton win this back in 2009, this time he's all about himself. Expect him to have a good showing and to throw a few of those ugly wrestlers out.
9. Daniel Bryan- 12/1
It's been an interesting year for the American Dragon. Started off on NXT, ended up getting fired by the WWE only to be brought back into the main event of Summerslam. He's still the US Champion and should have a great 2011. He should do very well in the Rumble, I expect him to have a long showing, but nobody involved in a storyline with the Bella twins is going to be the winner....
10. R-Truth- 15/1
Consistently over performer, but not far enough up the pecking order to be viewed as too much of a favourite. Expect him to clash with the NXT at some point.
11. David Ortunga- 15/1
David Ortunga isn't in this Rumble to win it, he's here to help Punk come out on top. However Mr. Ortunga has a bad habit of not staying in line with his leaders, so I wouldn't be too surprised to him turn on Punk at some point. I would be shocked if he won however.
12. Drew McIntyre- 15/1
Drew had a pretty decent showing last year, but can the man that Mr. McMahon himself tipped to be a main event star go on to Wrestlemania?
13. Jack Swagger- 15/1
It's been an odd year for the All American American. He won the World championship on SD in the Spring, but then spent all Summer, Autumn and Winter wrestling for the IC Championship. Can he get back into the title picture now?
14. Justin Gabriel- 20/1
Out of all the NXT guys (bar Danielson obviously), Justin has been the most impressive in-ring. His 450 splash is brilliant, but a high risk finisher tend to equal a royal rumble exit....
15. Heath Slater- 20/1
Heath gets the same odds as Justin and both get less than Ortunga, mainly due to the fact I think David would happily double cross anybody to win and I don't see these two going against their stable mates so easily.
16. Ezekiel Jackson- 20/1
For some reason the WWE think the last ever ECW champion has a lot of potential. They are wrong of course, but under Wade Barrett it looks like Zeke is in store for a big push this year.
17. Mason Ryan- 20/1
The newest member of Nexxus and mini Batista is entering his first royal rumble. Expect him to eliminate a handful.
18. Ted Dibiase- 30/1
My how the mighty have fallen. It was only last year when people were talking about the huge potential Ted had and were lining up to face (and in some cases beat!) Undertaker at Mania... Now he's Maryse's bitch, who's only upside is that he still manages to appear on Raw every week...
19. William Regal- 40/1
Regal has an awful Royal Rumble pedigree, and I don't think he'll change things too much this year. However with talk of retirement looming, perhaps the WWE will be nice enough to reward him with a long run in this match?
20. Tyson Kid-40/1
It would appear that Tyson is being lined up as the 'Shawn Michaels' of the Hart Dynasty compared to poor DH Smith's Marty Jannetty. He's sure to spend a good amount of time in the ring on his Rumble debut (and perhaps survive elimination a few times thanks to his boy guard ala' Matt Hardy 2003), but he'll be just another victim to one of the real stars.
21. Mark Henry- 40/1
Every year Henry enters the ring and some dumb commentator questions who can eliminate Mark Henry, oblivious to the fact that it's been done by both Chyna and Rey Mysterio....so anybody can eliminate him! Expect him to eliminate a few people, don't expect him to headline Mania!
22. Mike McGillicutty- 50/1
No relation to Beulah McGillicutty, but is instead the less than perfect Son of Curt Henning. As a member of the new Nexus he'll be trying to help Punk win and will probably clash and be eliminated by the Wolfpac NXT of Barrett, Slater and Gabriel.
23. Husky Harris- 50/1
No relation to the Harris twins, but is instead the son of everybody's favourite tax man IRS. See what I wrote above for details...
24. DH Smith- 75/1
DH Smith' father was rather great in these Rumble matches. Along with HBK he went coast to coast in 95 and was runner up in a controversial ending, he also came 4th twice in 96 and 91. However Bulldog also had terrible luck with numbers, being one of only a few men to draw #1 and #2... Will DH have his fathers gift for the Rumble, or his bad luck?...
25. Zack Ryder- 100/1
Woo woo woo! One of my favourite wrestlers in the E, but he won't win and I think even he knows it.
26. Yoshi Tatsu- 150/1
Talented wrestlers who seems to a lifetime jobber to the stars. Like Ryder he debuted last year and only lasted a minute. He'll be hoping he doubles that time at the very least!
27. Primo- 200/1
Following in the footsteps of both his brother and his Dad by entering this match, Primo will be lucky to get a single elimination and last more than 5 minutes.
28. Darren Young- 1000/1
The man who was kicked out of NXT is this years rank outside. He look the spitting image of John Cena, which is a good thing for him as mistaken identity is the only chance he has of going on to Mania...
--------
Not confirmed wrestlers odds of winning.
Christian- 9/1
Christian hasn't been in a Royal Rumble since 2005! Wow. Anyway the CLB is injured, but there are lots of people who think he's returning to the Royal Rumble this year. Mind you there were lots of people who thought he would attack Jeff Hardy and/or be in the Rumble itself at last years event...oh well. However he appeared on a Rumble advert on this weeks Raw, so I think he's a lock to be in and given that 2 of the last 3 Rumbles have been won by a surprise entrant Christian will enter as a favourite. Edge vs. Christian at Wrestlemania?
Kane- 10/1
Kane is obviously going to be in the match. He's even been featured in one of the WWE's Royal Rumble advert, so why they haven't announced him yet I don't know. After being World champion this year I think for once Kane will be treated like a big deal in this match rather than the commentators just referring back to his 2001 record. Will he do as well as he did that year however is up for debate. Maybe they will just give it to him as lifetime achievement award like they did with Taker.
HHH- 10/1
The King of Kings is hotly tipped to be in the Rumble and to get some revenge on new king Sheamus.
Big Show- 15/1
Again why wouldn't you have the Big Show in the match officially yet? The only reason he wouldn't be in it would be if he was selling the beatdown that the Corre gave him. I think he'll be in it though.
Kofi Kingston- 20/1
The IC champion will be in the match without a doubt, so announce him already!
Undertaker- 50/1
Long odds because he may not be fit enough in time.
Chris Jericho- 50/1
Equally long odds as Taker. He isn't injured, but said he won't return to the WWE anytime soon. But that could be a bluff.
Evan Bourne- 75/1
Out injured, but he should be fit either in time or not that long after.
Jerry Lawler- 75/1
I think Lawler will be in the match. He's been an active wrestler almost all month and Cole was poking fun at his abysmal 1997 showing, plus he has a feud going with Miz at the moment.
Santino Marrella- 100/1
Not confirmed, but like Kane and Big Show he's going to be a lock-in. Also he just lost the tag team titles, so now chance of him being in another match now. On Royal Rumble poster too.
Vladimir Kozlov- 150/1
See Santino.
Michael Tarver- 150/1
We know this Nexxus member is fit as he has been on SD and Raw this week. I think he will be in the Rumble, but what side will he join, Nexxus or Corre?
Chris Masters- 250/1
Chris Masters is pretty much a Superstars exclusive wrestler at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a spot in the match.
Tyler Recks- 250/1
The original Superstars exclusive wrestler! Tyler got a somewhat push last year and was in the big Bragging Rights match so someone must see something in him, therefore I would be surprised to see him not included.
JTG- 300/1
Hasn't been confirmed, but he is on the roster. I'm not aware of any injuries he has or suspensions, but truthfully I haven't bothered to look.
Skip Sheffield- 300/1
The former Nexxus member is injured, but we think he should be fit soon.
Goldust- 300/1
Injured, but like Christian he was on the PPV promotion advert on Raw. Plus he's got a book out soon and they'll want to promote that. And he hasn't got to do much work in a Rumble match.
MVP- 500/1
Why such low odds? Because he no longer works for the WWE. Why on this list at all? Because I watched an advert for the Rumble on WWE.com and froze every frame as they had close-ups of lots of wrestlers on the roster and low and behold MVP was there! I don't know how long ago it was made, but MVP was there. 100% sure it was him. Not 100% sure he'll return however. Though we were all shocked by RVD two years ago.
Joey Mercury- 500/1
Unlike Luke Gallows (Festus), Joey is still on the roster. Maybe he'll come to blows with Punk at some point?
Michael Cole- 600/1
Hey Coach was in one of these before. Two in fact. Vince McMahon even won one of these so you never know...
Beth Phoenix- 600/1
I included her because she has in it last year and isn't booked this year. Plus I think the person listed below will be in it, so they may try and kickstart a feud.
Amazing Kong- 600/1
It doesn't matter if she's Awesome or Amazing she has been signed by the WWE and she is largely tipped to make her debut in this 40 "person" Royal Rumble.
Hornswoggle- 12000/1
I think as unlikely as it is that a woman will win the Royal Rumble, it's twice as unlikely that a midget will.
Jey Uso- 5000/1
Rikishi's sons have a small chance of being in the match, zero chance of winning.
Jimmy Uso- 5000/1
See Jey.
Trent Barreta- 1,000,000,000/1
Remember these are odds to win, not be included, so think before making that bet!! The former Dudebuster has been featured a lot on Smackdown as of late and even scored a victory over Drew McIntyre recently. So maybe he'll make it....Doubt it.
1. CM Punk- 3/1
The leader of the New Nexus is my tip as the favourite to win it all. He was the highlight of last years event, but will be be the winner? Or will NXT implode?
2. John Cena- 4/1
