So the 2018 World Cup will be in Russia and the 2022 World Cup in Quatar.

I am shocked Australia didn't win 2022. How can they justify giving it to a country that has never ever been to a world cup? So once we have another African and South American world cup it'll be 2034... Which means I'd be 48 and that in ove...r 100 years of the world cup, the country that invented the sport only gets to host it once while Brazil, Italy, Germany, France and Mexico and possibly either Uruguay/Chile/Argentina will have held two. Hopefully in 2026 Blatter will be dead, because it's the only chance we have. 2034- back the bid! What a fucking joke.

My anger from this still hasn't subsided...

It's not that Australia didn't win the 2022 bid... it's not even the humiliating lopsidedness of the vote itself. No no... it's the completely unjust and unwarranted victory of a nation who not only has never played in a world cup, but holds an international footballing reputation akin to our baseballing history. It exists... and NO ONE takes it seriously.

This is a victory for money. Those who can spend it... and those with power who are happy to take it. I've never heard of such a proposterous plan as to set up air conditioned stadiums, only to tear them down and ship them to third world nations. Let's cure AIDS and sort out world peace in the process.

No offence Qatar. I have no real beef with you. It's FIFA... and FIFA alone. Deny us the world cup... I get it. I just don't like it. Nor the ease with which our bid was discarded.
