The year where My Space started making pop stars and when downloading songs became the next big thing.
A very good year for No.1's imo. Orson's 'No Tomorrow', Sandi Thorn's 'I wish I Was A Punk Rocker With Flowers In My Hear', Freddie Le Grande's 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' and Madonna's 'Sorry' all just fail to make my top 10.
10. Justin Timberlake- Sexy Back
This mainly makes it because me and my mate changed the lyrics to 'Slimy Back' after a guy at work who was always very slimy in his attempts to pull girls and we used to sing this to him whenever we were out clubbing.
9. My Chemical Romance- Welcome to the Black Parade
How this emo band got top spot is beyond me, but they did somehow.
8. Scissor Sisters- I Don't Feel Like Dancing
7. Take That- Patience
The single that for better or for worse saw Take That go from being a novelty reunion boy band into a proper huge man band.
6. Razorlight- America
It's no 'Golden Touch' but meh.
5. Shakira- Hips Don't Lie
"Shakira, shakira, shakira!"
4. Nelly Furtado- Maneater
Comeback single which transformed Miss Furtado from being like a bird into a Maneaster.
3. Arctic Monkeys- When The Sun Goes Down
Their 2nd No.1 from their influential debut album.
2. Lily Allen- Smile
Last year the Arctic Monkeys shot to fame via the medium of MySpace, this year it was the turn of Lily Allen and this was her debut single.
1. Gnarls Barkley- Crazy
The years biggest selling single. The years longest No.1. And the first song in UK chart history to achieve the top spot through downloads alone.
Now for the worst No.1. Now in a usual year Akon's 'Smack That' would be the worst No.1 single.
But this wasn't a usual year and Akon was beating to the title of 'Worst single of the year' that he seemingly tries for every year by this...
