Watched it, enjoyed it, rated it highly. It was kind of a caper episode. The lab looks a real mess after the fire, but clues will keep on popping up I am sure, bringing Hank closer to Heisenberg. I was shocked Ted didn't die though. He will now be the key character to this season.

Nice Sig. Had a few chuckles. Thought the episode jumped around a lot, but did really like the 52y.o. teaser opening scene. Impressive stuff, and I believe an homage to the opening scene of ep 1 season 1. Can't wait for next ep. Btw, my predictions for the final season (which will be split over this year and next year) -- Jesse will kill Walt. Hank will discover Walt before his death, but will fail to act due to moral conflict. Walt will lose his family. I think one or maybe all of them will be murdered.

Finally watched it. The first half of the episode was a bit underwhelming, but it picked up a bit at the halfway point. I loved the scene with Jesse suggesting the magnet and his smug look afterwards.
I'm curious to see if a new rival for Walt develops or if this season will mostly be about Hank slowly putting the pieces together. (I'm certain that will factor into next season.)

So, Mike is finally rattled. Did you see the expression on his face as he went to exit the interview room. Very subtle but he is big time pissed because he knows Hank has a ton of dirt on him I found this interesting because previously Mike has been stone cold, emotionless and almost robotic in his precision. To see him showing cracks is new. A nice touch was the dancing bear over the spyhole, before Mike popped one of the eleven. I wondered WTF that was before it showed you from outside. I can already see the way this season is headed, however this show has a canny knack of throwing curveballs when you least expect, but so far Steala is right. Hank is piecing together what we already know, but will it bring him to the right conclusion, or will Walt outive his nemesis? Either way, I am and will continue to be interested by this unique show.

Thought the opening scene with Madrigal was amazing. Opened up the truly international consequences of Walt's actions. The rest of the episode was necessary and interesting plot procedure to push Mike toward Walt. Also in that scene with Hank we found out that Mike is an ex-cop. If we already knew, I missed it. Interesting and something I'm sure will be developed upon. Anyway, this is all foreplay. The big episodes are coming! Can't wait. Great start to the season!

Also in that scene with Hank we found out that Mike is an ex-cop. If we already knew, I missed it. We didn't already know. This is a new development, and adds another facet to the mystery of Mike Love these spoiler tags btw.

Goddamnit. This is how I find out? The spoiler coding wasn't working correctly when this page first loaded and spoiled everything for me. It would explain a lot, however. Like when I get a boner when I see a fit naked man. I never knew why that was.

LMAO.
You seen Ep. 2 yet? You must be a DISH customer. Breaking Bad keeps complaining about them on my facebook newsfeed.
I could just turn their status updates off, but I like to think we're friends. Maybe even more....

Yeah, I have DISH and I haven't watched the second episode yet.
So why am I here in this thread full of spoiler tags? I guess I just like living life on the edge.
Like this guy.

Just watched it. I loved the opening Madrigal scene. The whole episode was very well done, in fact. Mike-centric episodes are always interesting. Spoilers(?): We did know Mike was a beat cop. Remember his speech about never taking half measures in season 3? (Conveniently the episode is titled Half Measures.) He tells Walt a story about repeatedly being called to a house for a domestic dispute. Eventually he took the offending husband out to the desert and held a gun to his head and told him if he touched the wife again, he would kill him. Weeks later, the woman was dead and he expressed how much he regretted not taking the full measure of killing him. I'm not sure if that was the first mention of Mike being an ex-cop, but it's the first I remember.

Hmm, I remember the episode but I had forhotten he mentioned he was a cop. I guess in the fog of all the heinous stuff he did since, I kinda musta forgot.

My girlfriend mentioned that she thought she knew that already. So I was tentative to say it was new info. Either way, I totally agree with you Steala. Those episodes are always interesting!

Nothing on episode three yet? I thought it was solid. Walt telling Marie about Skyler's affair was such a dick move. I loved it.
It's a waiting game on Skyler's explosion. I hope it's soon because she's really starting to annoy me.
Interesting to see Jesse go from "Where's the other half, bitch?" to not giving a shit about money whatsoever, e.g. lending the money upfront, volunteering to pay the "Legacy" cost for Walt.

I really liked it. Thought it's been a great start to the series. Walt exercised a few strokes of genius. None better than that dick move. I said the same thing as he did it. Hilarious. Skyler has annoyed me since season 2. Can't wait to see her gone. The start to episode 1 felt alot like Walt is alone and on the move.... as he was using a pseudonym. Anywhoo... I feel like all the foreplay is out of the way now. Can't wait for the next episode!
