So over the past few months, I've been watching breaking bad. gone seasons 1 through 4. The first two season were best, focused more on Walter's mastery of chemistry to solve situations, whereas it seems since Gus was introduced it has been all guns no smarts. Walt also annoys me with his general self-righteousness.

^ lol.
Not to suckle on the teet of Vince Gilligan and his writing staff too much, but I think you are supposed to begin to dislike Walt as the series goes on and he becomes more and more morally corrupt.

Yeah that was my issue Steala: I wasn't sure if I was supposed to like or dislike him. The earlier seasons I saw no reason to dislike him as he was simply in a situation without any "right" choices, and I thought we were supposed to pity him with Skylar's general bitchness (I had many issues with the writing of Skylar throughout seasons 1-3. Walt's lie that he needs to get outside for walks to appreciate nature is a perfectly understandable reaction to the seriousness of his cancer; even though we know what he's doing, she doesn't, so her complete lack of sympathy for her husband makes her feel less like an actual character and more of a simple road block to Walter's goals)
Before I posted my last comment I was reading about BB, and yeah they basically say you're not supposed to like Walt. I just feel this shift came about somewhere in the third season (possibly second with Jane, but he shows immediate guilt and remorse and so he has the viewer's sympathy back). I just feel the show was immensely more morally complex when Walt was a sympathetic character rather than he is now, where it seems we just go from one dickish, self-centered decision to the next. And like I said, his chemistry prowess seems to have been dropped since the beginning of season 3 (with the exception of S4 last couple episodes), which makes the show just another drug running, guns blazing story.
It's just my take on the show though; a friend of mine hyped it up as the best tv show in history, flawless writing etc. etc. etc., and I suppose I am just bitter now.

I agree with your friend.
I like Walt's character a great deal too. I think the writing of the three characters of Walt, Jesse and in particular Hank are amongst the best in modern TV. I don't find Walt to be a very complex character at all, in fact I find him rather superficial, which part of the charm as he puts on this facade of doing everything he does for his family, when in fact he is shit-scared of dying and just wants to keep his mind off it by getting involved in such heinous and morally ambiguous acts.

The moment I began to dislike Walt was when he began cutting the crust off his sandwiches. He throws away like 25% of his sandwiches. It's outrageous.

Did someone change my avatar again or have I always been this particular pony?
I could've sworn I had the pink one.
Are you fucking with me, MetalBlade?

Yes I swapped avatars with you. Only took you a week to notice. You used to have the purple one. But I thought it's gayness was more in keeping with my banner, so I stole it.

Considering no one had even posted during that week, I must have noticed upon first seeing it. This proves it; I've got a photographic memory.

Hmm... an interesting theory. I might leave it a week and see what changes have occurred in my absence. In fact, scratch that - I see the potential for a new game: SPOT THE DIFFERENCE. Each time I visit I will make a small subliminal change to something either on the homepage or your profile. See if you notice then it's your turn.

This sounds like it could end poorly. I'm in.
My warning level went from 100% to 69%.
I changed a few things about a day before you created this game, so I'll let those count as my first move, so as not to confuse at a later date.

I saw the happy birthday wish in the news fader a few days back. I think it was for Bull, and two other members. Was that it?

No, Hellion informed me that those birthday greetings were automated by the forum several months back when I mistakenly praised him for being so thoughtful to wish me happy birthday.
