Dennis Hopper Dies

Just heard Dennis Hopper has died.
For me 2010 has seen the loss of one of my musical idols in Ronnie James Dio, and now one of my all-time screen idols in Dennis Hopper. He almost stole the show in my number one movie ever Apocalypse Now, and starred in a series of classic movies in the sixties and seventies. But his role as The sadistic Frank Booth in David Lynch's Blue Velvet may be his crowning glory.
Rest in peace Dennis, you earned your place in the silver screen Hall Of Fame.

Just came here to say this. Very, very sad. A true legend. My favourite Hopper story was when David Lynch said he had invited all the cast of Blue Velvet to a meal and had just been on the phone to Hopper where had had told him he would be getting the part of Frank Booth. Hopper had said "You won't regret it. I USED to be Frank Booth" to which Lynch said after the phone call "He said he used to be Frank Booth..... I'm sure it'll be great for the movie... but I don't know how we'll going to have dinner with him."

That seems almost excessive for his stature. You give and you give and you just keep giving.
