Who's watching snooker this week?
I just watched 6 times world champion Steve Davis in a thrilling victory over reigning champion John Higgins.
It was awesome, and every time "Jiggins" drew level in the match, Davis won the next frame. The trend contininued right throughout the match until the last two frames which Davis came from behind to win.
Brilliant play by the 52 year old legend.

I noticed that during his first round match against "Mardy-Arse" Mark King, Davis was just glad to be once again playing in front of the Crucible faithful, and took each frame in his stride.
But as the match progressed, and he held his own against the top 16 man, it became apparent that he could fucking win this, and he became noticeably more serious, and even shouting out uncharacteristically after a particulary pressure-fuelled shot went in.

This match with the champion which concluded this afternoon, we saw the Steve Davis we haven't seen in a lot of years, concentrating immensely, and determined to win.
And win he did, in fine style.

So now he is in the quarters, I reckon he is now talking himself into winning the whole thing. And I also reckon he's anticipating a dream final against either Ronnie O'Sullivan or Stephen Hendry, who if he was to beat, would equal Hendry's record of seven world titles.

Isn't it weird, how in the eighties, when he was a ginger, everyone hated Steve Davis, but now he's grey everyone loves him!
I hope he goes all the way, and wins the world title again.
That would be awesome!

I saw that match briefly in the pub Friday and had to do a double take at the TV. Amazing victory for Davies. I'll be cheering him on.

So Davies went out. Anyway Robertson and Dott now in the final, come on Neil!!


However the talking point isn't about the final, no no- the big talking point is that the current world champion and world #1 John Higgings has agreed to taking bribes for match fixing for later this year. Outrageous.

Yes I want Robertson to win also, as I feel the game has suffered from a lack of competitors from overseas.
About the John Higgins thing, you should realise it's only allegations at this point.
Having seen the video, it does look bad for John, but his argument is compelling in that he was confronted by Russian gangsters and basically forced to agree or die.
I'm inclined to believe Higgins is innocent and is a victim of circumstance.
Time will tell though.
It is a real shame that the final has been overshadowed by controversy off the table.
