I thought I heard in an interview a couple years ago that the only active wrestler Taker would drop the streak for is Kane.

Just seen Swagger cut one of the worst promos I ever saw. Followed by another stinker of a promo by "JoMo" John Morrison, where he took the piss out of Swagger's thpeech impediment. And then they went and had a very sloppy botch-filled bout, during which the referee Jack Doan stopped the match midway through after Swagger suffered a minor graze at the side of his right eyebrow. Todd Grisham then claimed this was the current policy at the first sight of blood. WHAT. THE. FUCK...? This didn't even look like an angle. After all the good things I said about Smackdown last week, the go and pull a weak stunt like this in the opening 15 minutes. Piss-poor performance by a piss-poor champion. And the pop that Matt Hardy got as he entered the arena to face IC champion, just illustrates perfectly that these two belts are adorning completely the wrong waists. As much as I dislike John Cena, and all he stands for (although I do firmly support the troops), at least he is a credible, and popular champion. Not like these two plebs.

Couldn't agree more Metal.
On this evidence, Swagger is light years away from being accepted as a World Champion, WWE has to cut their losses and get the belt off of him....although I don't think having Orton as Champion is a smart idea, why not give it back to Jericho? The title was the reason for the Edge/Jericho feud and, handled correctly, it could rival the....rivalry of Taker/Edge from 2008.
As for McInDIRE.......well, he's greener than the peas in my shepherd's pie! Enough said.

I like Swagger. He's got tons of talent and I am enjoying his title reign.

Lol. He's seriously shitter than almost any champion I care to remember. His extremely low quality mic skills counteract his obvious mat abilities. Maybe - nay, certainly - I would mark a hell of a lot more for him if he had a manager to talk for him, as he did have a pretty impressive outing against The Undertaker on Raw this week. I'll give him that, but that's fucking it I'm afraid. The only choice lamer than Swagger for champion would be ... ROFL!... I can't think of anyone lamer!

R-Truth would be a far worse champion with his retarded "Whats up" gimmick. Seriously, though, I think Swagger is great in the ring, has done a great job holding the title and I love his confident/arrogance act. The only thing holding him back is the lisp. It's pretty sad that I say that considering I had a many a speech impediments when I was younger, but I can't help but listen for the lisp when he speaks. Nevertheless, I don't see that as a legit detractor to his holding the title; when Morrison cut that promo a few weeks back making fun of the lisp as if to suggest it's an obvious reason against Swagger as champion I found myself hoping Swagger would mop the floor with him. I'm hoping Swagger gets a clean win over Orton this Sunday. I think the WWE fucked up with Sheamus' title reign by making him win all his title defences by DQ - it screamed that the company didn't have faith in putting Sheamus over Cena, Orton etc. and completely ruined any momentum or "legitamacy" of the reign. For Swagger to be taken seriously, he has to get a clean win Sunday and then a few more in the weeks to follow.

What's the deal with Swagger getting beaten left, right and centre at the moment?! Surely not the most positive way to be pushing a brand new, young Champion! Since being champ he's looked at the lights for Orton, Taker and........well, I'd better not say anymore as it's a *SPOILER*.
But I have to agree with both Metal and Somar. I think it's way too soon for Swagger to be Champion, but IF they are going in that direction then he needs BIG wins over the likes of Orton, Jericho, Edge etc. and not cheap DQ wins, ala Sheamus.
I'll give WWE credit for one thing......attempting to get a new Main Eventer in the mix. But the way they're going about it is all wrong in my opinion.

They've tried many times though to create new main eventers and they always drop the ball. As you guys said, the really fucked up with Sheamus and they'll do the same with Swagger.
Look at CM Punk for example, he has what it takes to be at the top but they were quick to bury him when he supposedly said to someone in locker room that he deserves to be in the main event. It was then quickly reported to Undertaker who decided that Punk needs to be buried. Punk then dropped the title to Taker and was bundled in a fued with R-Truth and lost to him on more than one occasion.
The only recent main eventer who WWE have pushed is Edge. And that was five years ago.

CM Punk got in trouble for not adhering to the dress code and when he pointed out that Cena doesn't either they took that as him thinking he is a big a star as Cena. I don't think they are doing anything but great things with him though. They showed tons of faith with him in the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber and I think he's a legit main eventer now.
The ones they have failed with are Morrison, MVP and amazingly Kofi who was red hot last year. Sheamus title reign was bad and Swagger's is now so awful that even Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy must feel sorry for him at how his reign is being booked.

Yeah, what the hell was the deal with Kofi?!
He was showing bona fide main event potential in his feud with Orton. But after losing to "The Viper" at TLC, his career has nose-dived. I don't understand why he's being left in the dark while Swagger is being pushed as a World Champion.......if you can call the way he's being used as a "push"!
