I just found out that Gregory "Hurricane" Helms was released by WWE last week. That's a shame, as I thought he was a world class cruiserweight, but I guess he'll find his way to TNA just like all the rest of the Stamford Castoffs.
Here's how he tweeted: "Options being weighed, plans being made. Thx everyone for the overwhelming support. It means the world,"
After his initial surge of popularity in the early 00's, he never really fitted in on ECW and got lumbered with the same old angle each time. Well, good luck to The Hurricane, I'm pretty sure the other Vince is already busy scribbling down his debut as The Green Hornet to tie in with the movie when it comes out later this year.

Maybe he can start doing the vertebreaker again! I always liked Sugar Shane.

I think they released Maria and Paul Burchill at the same time. Three pretty big releases but Helms' was going to happen after his arrest last month.

This is what I posted elsewhere about the releases od Helms, Burchill, Maria, Scott Armstrong and Haas as and I can't be bothered to type it again so here it is:
I am a fan of Burchill, but this is no shock. I saw the Raw house show in London a few months back and Paul got zero reaction at all. Not his fault mind you, but getting no reaction from your home fans, British fans who so rarely see live WWE too, should start getting you worried. I hope he goes to TNA and joins the British Invasion.
Hurricane and Haas have both said they wanted to go to TNA so this isn't shocking either. In fact was very surprised when the WWE supposedly gave Haas a payrise last year to stop him going to Orlando.
Shame Scott Armstrong got let go, and to answer a question a few pages back, Road Dogg no longer works for TNA as he was released by them last year.
I am upset Maria has gone. I was a big fan of 'Interviewer Maria' and she sure nailed that adorably dumb gimmick to a tee. Sadly though once you've been in Playboy the WWE have no more need for you.
