So TNA are doing a countdown of their top 10 PPV matches of the year and I thought I'd post their countdown here so we (or more likely Metal and I..... or even more likely- me) can discuss them.
The countdown starts with one of my favourites from my pick for PPV of the year- Slamiversary.
10. Slamiversary
Monsters Ball Match
Raven & Daffney vs. Abyss & Taylor Wilde
Got to admit I loved this. Abyss and Raven were great and Stevie was a hoot, but it was Daffney and Wilde who were the standouts.
9. Lockdown
TNA Championship
Sting (c) vs. Mick Foley
Hmmm not sure about this one. It was one of the feuds of the year and the video package for it was oscar worthy, but the match wasn't great. TNA were doing the best ratings during it however.
8. Slamiversary
King of the Mountain Match for the TNA Championship
Mick Foley (c) vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe
I'm not going to lie I love the KOTM matches. So Foley won at Lockdown and was doing everything he good to keep his death grip on that title and even declared that after he won here he wouldn't defed the title until Bound For Glory. "That's four months away though?" asked Borash to which Foley replied "No 16 months.... Bound For Glory 2010!" This was a superb match with a shocking turn at the end and made AJ look great.
The X-Division one was better though.
7. Bound For Glory
Kurt Angle vs. Matt Morgan
Matt Morgan might just be the most improved wrestler of the year and this was a good, albeit slightly short, match. Shame then that there are too many upper midcarders on TNA's ever expanding roster.
So that's four down, 6 to go. What will be No.1? Angle vs Wolfe? Angle vs. Wolfe again? AJ vs. Daniels vs. Joe? AJ vs. Daniels? How about matches from January's PPV- Angle vs Jarrett & Shelly vs. Sabin? Not sure if this list was complied before December's PPV or not.
