Yeah it's kinda like the BNP winning a seat in the Euro Parliament. Everyone knows it's the result of protest voting, but at least it might make a few people sit up and realise what shit we've been force-fed over the years. Maybe there are some people of influence who might realise we actually don't want what they have been imposing on a public they think are too stupid to know what real music sounds like. This stunt appears to have worked on whatever level it was intended. It's just a shame it's the censored version.

Amazing. I heard about the Rage Against the Machine campaign, but never thought it would work. Simply brilliant and I too will be tuning in to Top of the Pops on Christmas day

Lol, my parents, especially my step-dad, was rather annoyed about all of this! Makes it even better. It just shows Simon Cowell's contempt for the British public that he thinks a Hannah Montoya cover is good enough to be No.1.
Is the "Christmas No.1" a big deal in the US at all?
I saw a list of the Christmas No.1's for the decades and ROTM is the best of the lot. I am a big fan of "Mad World" too, but it says a lot when "Sound of the Underground" is probably the third best......... Thank god!

I loved the whole campaign, it was brilliant. Someone started a thread about the people who were supporting, their ages and jobs/education and it was interesting to see that the majority were 25-45 professionals/highly educated. Not the moronic swampys we had been portrayed as Someone said it was quite interesting as its usually the kids that rebel, not the adults
