In what has to be the shock of the year it appears Hogan and Easy E have both signed TNA contracts.
What. The. Fuck?
Now the Hogan news COULD be good as there is no doubt in hell that man should be able to spike a rating, but where the hell is the justification in Eric?!
TNA has been on fire in 2009 and have logically booked all their shows well in advance with the aim of pushing the future of TNA and now this..... holy crap.
AJ, Daniels, Joe, Morgan, Abyss, Eric, Homicide, Hernandez, Wulfe watcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?

What a shitty development.
Just when I thought it might be safe to watch TNA again.

Hmm, I'd rather have found out I have prostate cancer. Most unsatisfactory news indeed.

Yeah, the last thing TNA needs is Hogan.
Goodbye TNA.

If Hogan was to return in a non wrestling role, ie a manager, then I would mark. But Hogan looked washed up ten years ago, so what makes Dixie think he has anything to offer in the ring?

Hogan has openly said that he will judge by his australian tour if he can wrestle or not. I'm guessing he's going too.
Alot of stuff I've read online that people close to Hogan and Bischoff say that they think the deal isn't to help TNA but for personal gain.
In all honesty that wouldn't surprise me one bit, Hogan has got a reputation for not putting people over when needs to be done and look at the mistake Bischoff made when he had major power in WCW.

Another thing, why are they making out as though Hogan's never been in TNA before?

Well he really wasn't in it before.
He announced he was in TNA during a press conference in Japan I think and then JJ famously hit him the the guitar. Hogan then arrived at the Asylum and from what I read said that the arena wasn't big enough for him and walked away. So he never appeared in TNA before.
Btw did anybody else this week get reminded of the Simpson's episode where Poochie joins Itchy and Scratchy and Homer says "I think Poochie should get more screen time, and when he's not on screen everyone should always ask 'Where's Poochie?' as everybody mentioned Hogan in every single promo.
I am really hoping Black Machismo turns on Hogan setting up a Mega Powers Mania V rematch. I've seen Hogan's eyes, they lust after Val.

The only thing Hogan's eyes lust after is his next cognac, judging by that press conference. He looked like he'd certainly necked a few before coming out. Yeah I know he never actually appeared in the ring before but he cut several promos and everyone was banging on about him being in TNA back then, so I'm experiencing a little deja vu.

Yeah, I think this is a wonderful move on TNA's part. They really want to take some swipes at WWE's waining popularity. Getting a bunch attitude/NWO era fans on board by bringing in the wrestlers they know and love is a great way to start.

Good points guys. Whilst this may not topple the Titan Towers, this is a quite obvious move to emulate what WCW did in the mid 90s. My only concern is that as a longstanding and constant viewer of wrestling, I am possibly qualified more than most to foresee the potential long term problems with quick fixes within the industry. I witnessed the rise and fall of both WCW and ECW in real time, as well as the transition of the WWF from the cartoon era sideshow act of the late 80s, through it's massive spike in popularity during the Monday Night Wars period where the original incarnations of the nWo and DX stole all the airtime. Whilst I too am guilty of looking back on those times with rose-tinted glasses, just as any seasoned fan does, I also bear in mind the extreme lows the industry has endured both in popularity and creativity. This move by TNA has obviously not fallen on deaf ears in Stamford though, as evidenced by the reappearance of The Hitman after so many bitter years. With that in mind, I dearly hope that TNA take valuable heed of the mistakes made by the WCW administration towards the end of it's bloated existence. The fact that this forum has seen two new recruits in as many days, after a prologued barren period for our small but exclusive community, both of whom are here primarily to discuss this new chapter in wrestling history, is testament to what Dixie Carter and Hogan has achieved with this shrewd manoeuvre. Only time will tell of course, and maybe we will be lamenting this week in years to come, but conversely we may yet be discussing this week in positives as the time when the tide turned once again in wrestling.

Oh I fully agree signing Hogan was a good idea and could potentially be great.
HOWEVER giving him full creative control and more power than Dixie Carter herself? Now that could be a very dangerous move.
