The ROH purge continues!
Another amazing signing by the WWE. Hopefully Nigel will have time to heal after his injury ridden year. Hopefully ROH will recover from this as both Nigel and Bryan have been hoping to sign for the WWE for years. They need to lock Tyler Black and Austin Aeris up because if they los either of those then the writing could be on the wall.

Great move by WWE, but in a way this could turn out to be a good thing for ROH. It means the other guys on the roster will have to step up and become their next breakout star. Lets face it, ROH know talent.

So Nigel made his debut!!............. On TNA!!!
Nooooooooo idea wtf happened but Nigel sure is in TNA under the name Desmond Wolfe and made his debut by attacking Kurt Angle backstage and then damn near killing him in the ring in what was quite possibly the best wresting debut in history. Looks like we are going to get Angle vs Wolfe at Turning Point and this could be another MOTYC and will almost certainly be PPV of the year.

TNA is really good at coming up with awful ring names.

Desmond Wolfe is an awesome name. I don't get why people don't like it. Is it 'Desmond' or 'Wolfe' they don't like?

Wolfe. It's just a very typical TNA name. Bland and unnappealing. I swear they refer to the 'American Gladiator' manual of 'cool-sounding' names and alter them from there if they deem it necessary.
I'm guessing it goes something like this.
"Nope, nope, we've already used Wild, Sky, Rain, Flash, Bolt.......wait, is this the Diva's list? No, there's Storm."
"Oh yes, sorry about that, sir. Don't worry, I have good ideas...How about Shark, Wolf, or Zebu?"
"Hmmm, I do like the middle one. It's very memorable and provocative. What was it again?"
"Wolf, sir."
"Ah, yes. But let's spice it up a bit. Add a bit of flair....Let's add and 'e' to the end."
"Wow, Mr. Russo, sir, you sure do know what the kids like."

I agree with Steala, the name is awful.
Anyway, there's a bit of worry about the wrestling community with this signing by TNA. According to PWI, WWE turned McGuinness down due to an issue with his previous bicep tear. They said it looked very weak and felt it could injure again which would as we know result in a long time out. Still it's a great signing for TNA, lets just hope what WWE have predicted wont happen.
WWE have still signed Danielson, apparently they'll be debuting him soon.

But wolves are awesome. If I met someone with the surname Wolf or Wolfe I'd be like "wow, that's a cool name!!' if I met a Ziggler I wouldn't at all impressed.
Plus it would be a very easy name to play-off in promos, crowd chants, move names etc. In fact in SD Shut Your Mouth I had a whole family of Caws with the surname Wolf!
It's not too dismaler to British Tekken character Steve Fox either, which is a great name.
Yeah Knox, that's why the WWE didn't want to offer him the original contract, but he will wrestle MUCH less in TNA and besides Nigel's not one to shy away from working through an injury either.

I have never and will never promote Dolph Ziggler as a good wrestling name, just to get that out of the way.
Fox is a good name, as long as an extra 'x' isn't added to make it exxtra cool. Wolf/Wolfe, not so much. For example - Michael J. Fox is hilarious. Scott Wolf? Not even close. I think I've made my point.
It's all in the sound of the name, not necessarily the animal it represents. I feel like Desmond Lemur would be a better choice.

If you substitute the o for a u, as in Wulf, it becomes cooler still. Add an umlaut above the u, as in Wülf, and it becomes the epitome of cool. I saw this debut and I can honestly say I did not recognise McGuinness without his trademark blond spiky Johnny Rotten hairdo. But it still was an immense debut, slapping the living piss out of Kurt.

I enjoyed seeing Wulf give the two fingers to the Orlando crowd. I'll always mark for that.

I'm afraid it's too late to be calling him Wülf now. I mean, he's not Marcus Cor Von or John Morrison. He can't change his name every week. It's a lost cause.
