So with the 4th of July just gone this past Saturday I thought I'd turn the forum American for a while. Then I got bored and forgot about it.
Anyway here's a thread to list your top 10 American wrestlers now.
10. Amazing Kong
I always like the big man vs little man wrestling matches be it Bret vs. Diesel, AJ vs Abyss or HBK vs Vader and Amazing/Awesome Kong has been in some outstanding ones with the likes of Gail Kim, Roxxi, Daizee Haze, Sara Del Ray and her match with MsChif in Shimmer is the best women's match I've ever seen. She lives up to both her ring names as she is Amazingly Awesome.
9. Daffney
You've probably seen her as the fantastic heel in TNA, but she can also play an amazingly hilarious babyface. I don't think her wrestling is outstanding (better than 90% of the Divas mind) but being able to play two completely different characters so perfectly and her willingness to do crazy stuff like the thumbtack spot earn my respect.
Plus she's freaking hot.
8. Shelton Benjamin
I'm just a huge Shelton mark. Give him a manager (Tony Atlas?) or a valet and this guy would be huge.....
7. Cheerleader Melissa
The best female wrestler in the world imo. She just has that special star-quality "It factor" that if used right could make her into a huge star. Hopefully TNA will unmask her soon and let her wrestle as herself rather than Raisha Saeed. In fact I read that she will be wrestling Sarah Stock on Impact soon (under the crappy name of Melissa Flash....) and it should be a great match.
6. Kurt Angle
He may be bat shit insane and not as good as he was when he was 'Goofy Kurt' but he's still one of the best in the world.
5. The Rock
No explanation needed.
4. Alex Shelly & Chris Sabin
The best tag team I've ever seen.
3. Eddie Guerrero
I always thought he was a great wrestler, but it wasn't until he 'lied, cheated and stole' that I really grew to love him. I was watching his Summerslam match with Rey the other day and now think that is one of the greatest feuds ever. Even the stuff with Dominic is fun.
2. Mick Foley
Love his matches, love his promos and above all I love his books. His TNA stuff has been freaking fantastic too.
1. AJ Styles
The only other man who can really have a legitimate argument as the best wrestler in North America today along with Y2J. I think his main event push will happen in a few months which will be awesome.
