Holy shit, I dunno what to say or do at the moment.
I am numb.
I just found out that Chris Benoit and his family were found dead at their home today. Cause of death is unknown at the moment, but Benoit apparently called in last night to cancel his scheduled Vengeance appearance against CM Punk.
He said he had to rush home as his family were very ill.
Christ knows what's happened. This is AWFUL news.
I don't even want to get into the whole Vince McMahon death thing. I just hope they abandon the whole shitty thing and McMahon does the right thing by appearing on Raw tonight.
Fucking sad news indeed. I'm literally shaking as I type.

I am aghast.
Apparently WWE have scrapped all plans for the Mr. McMahon Memorial Show tonight - THANK GOD - and it will be a show reflecting on his life and remembering Chris Benoit.
I really hope this is not a stunt...
Not because I wish it were true, but I could not live with myself if they stooped so low.

Scratch that last message.
Vince just appeared in the ring to an empty arena, and acknowledged the fake current storyline regarding McMahon's death.
I am glad they have abandoned it, but how disgraceful that it's taken something as devastating as the real death of a modern day legend in Benoit.

This completely blew my mind when I heard about it.... I admit, at first I thought it was fake, like the Vince thing, I almost hoped it was, I just didn't want to believe that it could be true... but then I saw it on the news, and knew it was real. It's awful, I dread to think of what may have happened to the Benoit family, and I only hope that whatever it was, that they did not suffer. My thoughts and prayers are with their family. RIP Benoit.

I can't believe it at all. I'm watching Raw atm, it's such a shock. I was lucky enough to be at WM 20 and it will never be a moment I'll forget. I'm just so shocked to see he's gone. He's whole family.
Reports say he rushed home on Saturday for a family emergency and they expected him to be back for the PPV yesterday. He didn't turn up and people wondered what had happened. Police found him, his wife and child dead this morning in their home in atlanta.
At least we know Benoit is now in heaven with Eddie.
RIP Benoit.

I think it's fucked how wwe storylines are so messed up as of late that you don't know if a superstar's death is real or not; I thought at first it was fake but now that I know it's real it sucks...

This is massive news. Fox News even has the story on the front page of their website at www.foxnews.com/I've been trying to find out what the hell happened and the authorities seem to be keeping tight lipped. There is however some chatter indicating a murder-suicide. I hope to god that isn't true. |

I hope thats not true either. From what I grasped from reading around, the three bodies were found in different rooms with no obvious marks. Benoit had said he couldnt make Vengeance as his family were "very ill". Carbon Monoxide poisioning you think?
The alternative is unthinkable tbh and I cant get my head around any thoughts that he might have been responsible.
Thank God WWE saw sence enough to drop the Vince storyline, although I expect it will be back once we return to "normal programming" never been one for having a heart has old Vinnie Mac
And I agree with Carter, it speaks volumes when you hear of something like this and your first thought is that its a work... so so sad.

Well, I read an article yesterday that said that the Georgia Police were saying that they weren't shot... but there's still a lot of other ways that they could have been killed. According to what I'm reading so far today, investigators think Benoit killed his wife and son over the weekend, and then killed himself on Monday.... I hope to God that this is not true, I just can't believe that he would do something like that. The autopsys will be completed today so hopefully we'll find out what really happened soon.
I'm glad that WWE dropped the whole Vince angle last night, the tribute show that they did was a great idea... and I really hope that you're wrong Electra, and that they don't pick this storyline up where they left off next week. But the WWE is capable of anything these days, which is why most of us thought it was a work at first.

I really hope Im wrong too. But after the awful storylines produced after Eddies death, and who can forget the HHH necrophilia angle, and the story that when Steph fell pregnant, Vince wanted to run an incest storyline involving either himself or Shane (which HHH rightly immediatley stamped out)? Im not so sure...
Yes, Ive just read that they think Benoit killed his wife and son over the w/e and himself on Monday. Its shocking.

It's shocking indeed. Reports have been saying him and his wife had been having violent altercations as of late. Whats not to say Benoit went home on saturday and just snapped? Wrestling Observer reported that the last text he sent was all cryptic to Chavo. What that man has been through now is unbelievable.
CO poisoning is a possiblity on Nancy and Daniel, depending on how long they had been in the home. It would of taken more than 48 hours for it to take affect on Chris though. One possiblity is that he went home to find his wife and kid dead and just killed himself. The autopsy will let us know roughly the times of death as a simple police officer can only assume.
What ever happens at the end of all of this, we need to remember Benoit as he was in his wrestling career.

We dont know his state of mind. Its chilling to think that when he called to say his family were really ill, they could already have been dead. Christ its like something out of a suspence novel. If however CO poisoning is to blame then its quite possible that they were very ill and finding your wife and son dead is enough to send anyone over the edge imo. |

There was an autopsy about 2 hours ago stateside and I'm to presume WWE and the police may have this rushed through. Stuff should start making it's rounds pretty soon.
Shocking thing is now, it's appearing WWE have made up their mind and are washing their hands of Benoit. All his stuff has been removed from shopzone and the site is pretty much back to normal. I guess they want to wait and see about the results of the autopsy first.
Tonights Smackdown and ECW shows, will feature no storylines or backstage angles, just plain wrestling.
