Dr. Phil Astin, former physician for Chris Benoit and Mike "Johnny Grunge" Durham, was sentenced to 10 years in prison today. He will also face three years of supervised release and 250 hours of community service once released from prison. Astin had already entered a plea of guilty to 175 counts of illegally distributing prescription drugs and conspiring to distribute prescription drugs.
Astin told the Associated Press the following:
"I take full responsibility. I am sorry I hurt so many lives. I was thinking that I was looking after my patients."
