I was sure it wouldn't happen but Israel, who were already out and missing some of the best players pulled off a big shock and beat the Russians!

While I won't be getting to excited over it until Wednesday when England should at least get the 1 point they need to make it to Austria/Switzerland. Still it's a huge relief to know that our chances of making it are still in our hands and I have officially become Israeli for the time being.

I think the name of this thread should be changed now to 'THEY FUCKED UP'.

Simply a terrible, terrible display by England. While it is true that Croatia were the best team in our group and that the match should have been irrelevant by that time anyway (we had terrible results against Macedonia, Israel and Russia) losing to Croatia at all should be viewed as a bad result, let alone at home.

All in all what a shambles. I guess there is always 2010.... (assuming we even get there....) but my summer next year has been totally ruined by this.
